Channel Strip MIDI CC assignment

Post by sexhorse »

It seems there is an issue with Scope 5's channel module: none of its faders or knobs are able to detect sent MIDI cc assignments. If you left-click to make an assignment, then send a cc message to the module, the incoming MIDI light at the bottom of the module surface blinks, but the cc assignment remains "none" ..

This must be a known issue. Does anyone know of an alternative module that doesn't exhibit this defect?

Thanks!

Edit: I should add that even if you manually set a cc assignment for one of the knobs/faders, the assignment is saved but the control still doesn't respond, except to indicate incoming MIDI.

Micro and Dynamic work fine here, but you are right about the channel.
I never use it but checked it out and can concur.
I have a few Channel Strips I use and all of them work fine.
They have another little fix it looks like.
It does show MIDI activity, so that's a good sign.

Nice Find.

Well, while SC sorts out the problem, can you tell me about the channel strips you are successfully using? Are any of them free?

Thanks!

I am not sure how much came with RC 5.0, but check the mastering folder for the SL9000 SC.
If it's included it's a great strip.
If you need a stereo/mono w/ a Sub out for Bass Celmo's X-Machine is nice.
My favorite is the DAS C350 as it has a great gate and compressor, with several internal routings like Dynamics >> EQ, or vise versa, etc. Plus the sound is transparent the entire audio path.
