I'm looking for a synth that can produce bass tones that are sufficiently deep, rich, and textured so as to be useful for driving a vocoder to produce convincing robotic voices.. but which is easy on the DSP.
I've been using Micromoog, but it is somewhat of a DSP hog (I'm typically using 3 voices), and in general I'm not too amazed with the results anyway..
Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!
Looking for lightweight synth for vocoder
Re: Looking for lightweight synth for vocoder
Can you build a suitable one oscillator one in Modular ?

sexhorse,
Maybe the uknow007 will work for you? Use the saw wave and the sub oscillator for some harmonic-rich low tones.
Which vocoder are you using? The vocodizer has a built-in synth.
