well, we've been through all of this already with Xite. If we didn't get regular updates then what makes anybody think we'll get them now? Let them finish it off and release it, whether I know the progress or not doesn't change the release date. It's always nice to know and we are all curious, even an updated RC with some of the fixes done would be encouraging, but regardless of that it will be done and released, just as Xite was. I hope... :P right??? somebody?!? :D

No. Mac is just as much of a con-job as PC's these days. At hardware level they are all basically the same anyways. :P

Considering the task at hand, a small hand full of minor bugs, 64 bit drivers, OSX, VDAT, XTC (which to an extent has been worked around)...and I won't use the word Linux...DOH!!

It's a pretty tall laundry list imho, and if there is anything we can say positively...they won't release crap...the RC, was pretty solid. XITE...same....some 3rd party dev issues...no biggie...fixes have and are being made.

Please don't take this the wrong way (I include myself in this)...after 5.0 was released...after a barrage of badgering, the OT stuff got a little silly, some just plain crazy, and just a few months after a huge accomplishment by S|C...I won't be the one to cast the first stone....I've said it before...& I'll say it again...cooler heads will prevail....just like the other side of the pillow.....

Well I find that emailing the company is the best way to get the scoop on the application and it's progress.
I recieved an answer to my last question immediately, and can say that the XP/Vista drivers are being replaced with Windows 7 drivers.
I thought that was a great bit of info, and because of the new SSD's working better in 7 than XP it appears as though they are looking forward.
IMHO, they can take all of the time they need.
I understand their silent strategy. They appear to be playing Poker very wisely.
As we say in Nevada the River card is the most important.

You should talk to the guys a SonicCore, they love to talk and they sure know their stuff.
However, it is a 'catch 22' situation, as you just know the longer you keep them talking the more you are keeping them from doing what it is you love to hear them talk about

right. as you say it wouldn't be a good idea to distract their attention ;) I ain't angry or frustrated at all though, still have a magma box hosting 2 P2 cards with almost all apps and working like a charm.. I'm just a little impatient, or rather wanting to get a gift badly. xite1 is soooooo promising 8) and i've been dreaming about a product like that for a very long time

I thought I was entering the dreamworld somewhere around 1994, when I fell for the Digidesign BS about the Audio-Media III card, which I could sync to my blackface ADAT with Cubase. Not too many years later, they abandoned the PC world with that card, and offered up a generous SCREW YOU to me in compensation, and my always-shaky business flatlined. I have not forgiven them.

My dealer was kind enough to offer me an excellent deal on my first 4dsp Pulsar. It didn't revive my business, but it did restore my thrills!

Dreams WILL come true...

that's a sad story cortone. i remember that slick Audio-Media III box and didn't buy it only because i didn't have the cash. then it was the ensoniq paris machine which 3 of us friends bought in common. then creamware stepped in and from that time i've had a full fledged producing box sitting next to my bed, only, it's not as portable as xite1 promises to be...

I'm currently eyeing one of those to go with it:

machines forever getting slicker:

Oops, not trying to yank tears, but highlight just how long I've been dreaming...and how elusive those dreams can be.

All that mucking about to try and get that beast stable ultimately resulted in a career that goes on today. I'm happy, if not exactly doing what I always imagined. Plus, I get to point out to my father how all that "dead-end money-wasting" got me to where I am.

Cheers,
Cory

That is a question for S|C...good things come to those who wait...the Win7 driver will replace XP/Vista driver, (as Jimmy said) and as any indication says...will perform better than the current one...wait for it....wait for it....wait for it...good things come to those who wait...please, trust S|C on this one....
