Greg,
I think that SpaceF's BlackBox II is an incredible value, and just doesn't get the mentions that it deserves. You get a bunch of synths, including the BiOsc, which is a very deep semi-modular with a slew of oscillators and filters to stuff in (these will also work in Modular and Solaris), plus some often overlooked ones like the DXD and SXD. There's a bunch of innovative effects as well, like Echo3.5.
Flexor III is crazy stuff.
I'm sure you've heard this enough, and Jimmy and others can speak to the Solaris far better than I can, but it's another special one that you should check out. It covers such a broad range of programming options that it's basically 6 different synths in one, IMO.

If you're still having problems with loading prodyssey, i think you should ask new keys. Ive had a problem loading b3000,Profit5, and Minimax. It says "Import Succeed" and after that nothing is loaded. Once you load a new device scope crashes.. Yesterday i got my new keys and everything loads perfectly
You could also take a look at John Bowen's Prowave, it's an excellent synth, and it's not as heavy as solaris. Hopefully they will be optimised soon so they become more efficient for xite , but i think prowave is already very usable right now, and loads presets very fast. You can load a whole bunch of these simultaneously, as Jimmy has already shown in another thread.
BlackBoxII is also an excellent choice. Great package of synths and effects. I had some extreme sync/async values though yesterday loading some of the effects, so i have to figure out yet which ones are stable right now.. BBII has also a great package of Satellite modules which contain oscillators and filters. They are interchangeble in the Space-F's and John Bowen's synths using the RD slots... Endless possibilities

Re: How many XITE-1's out there?
Prowave.........
RDII Modules from JBowen
SpaceF Satellites from Black Box II
Flexor RD Modules from Adern
Then in the insert effects rack, 6 x effects of your choice.
I have probably bored you with FAT BASTARDS, so I'll show you a typical sound of the PPG 2.23, same sounds you heard on the " Money For Nothing " song from the '80's.
Oh Yeah......and the chicks for free..
Anyways, this preset is SpaceF's Jaws Oscillator which is 3 x Saw waves in a single shell.
Then the Rotor shell, which houses 4 x Waldorf Oscillators from JBowen's RDII Modules.
Then the fierce and mighty LP Butter from Adern's Flexor III.
It's nice having a synth using 3 fierce Bastards modules all together at once.

Re: How many XITE-1's out there?
Thanks guys for the input and recommendations. I'm still checking all these out - in particular to how well they respond to MIDI guitar tracking, etc. - which is what I'll be testing today.
I'm definitely looking for big lush pads for backing tracks and some good luscious leads to overlay with the guitar (both clean and distorted).
I'm not at all worried about having enough DSP overhead available with Xite, so I'm not worried at all about that - just have to resolve the DSP overload errors I'm getting on my system that already has 3 Scope cards in it

Don't overlook 6-string either. It may not do a realistic-enough guitars, but start tweaking some of the more obscure parameters (the advanced pick options, and "body" eqs) and you can get some wild non-real plucked sounds. Even the more realistic sounds could add an interesting layer.
I'd also gladly trade all of my other prophet-type plugs for ProWave.
Another unknown sleeper is Zarg's Python (I have played with the original, built in Modular), although I would probably choose the Q-Wave instead, as it looks like it could cover the same ground and more.
Have you played with Mojo? I'm not a guitarist (sharp- and little-stringed monsters that they are. I need fat, round-wound strings for my joy), but I love what it can do for lead synths, and I have it on my short-list for post-XITE plugs. XOR sounds intriguing too, but I feel full with my synth arsenal, not sure I can stuff in one more mind-boggling alternative. But they are still running that special at Adern...

Re: How many XITE-1's out there?
Already demo'd Mojo, and it's good, but I need another amp like I need another wife.
Same goes for effects and guitar models - I have a VG-99 that is reeling my head at the possibilities of layering 12-string and mandolin models over top of my straight guitar.
Will be checking out the Prowave for sure.

Re: How many XITE-1's out there?
Confirmation from Sonic Core! Just got an email from NovaMusik!
Approx shipping date kw 32! I'm guessing by the end of August if there are no supplier delays.
If not, I'm looking at September, but Nova ordered three...so there will be 1 or 2 units available at that point for immediate shipping in the US!...WOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!

Re: How many XITE-1's out there?
I thought about ordering a XITE-1 from Novamusik, especially since they are local and i don't live that far from them. Every time i called them about XITE-1 different people who worked there kept giving me different information. One said they would be doing XITE-1 orders and another said they more then likely would not. The one who said yes they would had no price for me and very little info in general and that made me decide fully to shop with Gary who i knew would know all that is going on with S|C and the SCOPE platform. I hope Novamusik become a bit more enthusiastic and informed about SCOPE, because i'm sure they could sell alot of XITE's. They just need to be more XITEDnetguyjoel wrote:

On another note, i just received my XITE-1 in the mail today so i am VERY VERY happy right now. I have one of the standard serial numbers so it does'nt end with a 25 or 26. its more typical to the serial numbers of the scope pci cards.

Here's a little tidbit I threw together while checking out the synths...
XOR, Paradox, Atze, Lightwave - mostly layered.

Re: How many XITE-1's out there?
It's interesting; very experimental. If I hadn't known, I would have thought it was samples from an old recording of a British synth band.
Re: How many XITE-1's out there?
I hear the Antze Pulse Pad.
Nice stuff, and it does have a strange old British sound, circa Sgt. Pepper.

Re: How many XITE-1's out there?
what's your favorite arpeggiator?
The 'default' arpeg01 is kinda lame.
I want instant response to incoming chords from MIDI guitar in real time - none of this lame step-ARPeggiator stuff
I'm considering getting Xor, Prodyssey and some other goodies sometime soon.
Thanks,
Greg
