Looking for a PSU for the Intel DP35DP.
I think the ANTEC CP-850 850W is a bit too much.
I will have 3 Pulsar boards and at least 4 drives.
I will be housing it all in the Antec P193.
Thanks

Always had good luck with the corsairs myself.
I have 4 of them in different machines, they have been reliable and not very loud.

too much is better than too little. your system will only use what's needed.

I used the OCZ Power Stream for years but I always get a new PSU and keep a spare because I am not in the mood to have a failure during a gig. I still have the Power Stream and they quit making them for a cheaper version called Mod Stream, which I wouldn't suggest.
When companies release models with corner cutting tricks, I move on.
I did get a lemon Corasir, but it was under warranty and quickly replaced and has had zero issues.
Corsiar's are quality built with a good warranty.
These guys are pretty thorough with their testing and have a wide array of articles to search through.

Re: PSU for Intel DP35DP
My main machine atm draws about 340-380 under a heavy workload with two quads, fb-dimms and 6 hd's plus a gtx285 (which is unnecessary for audio but I do other things) and I use a 750watt/80+ Silencer 750 Quad (Black) which runs warm but never spins up the fan or runs too hot. Some might argue that they're owned by OCZ now, however the internals haven't changed between the 2 models I have bought recently and the one was before the new ownership.
I have a Supermicro ~500w PSU in an older Xeon which has lasted since 2001 (the machine houses my Scope cards even), an Enermax 350w which has run a headless Athlon based machine in the closet for years, and an Antec 350w unit in my wife's newer socket amd based system.
Regardless of brand I tend to buy a large enough units to allow for 3-4 years of aging. And getting an 85+ % efficiency unit couldn't hurt, but I would certainly get at least an 80+ rated model. I also further any suggestions to skip the 'cheaper' lines from a given manufacturer and just get their good stuff. Overall I think there are going to be variances with anything that's not heavily bench tested, so I tend to burn-in new machines and monitor new components in older machines until I trust them (ie, watch your voltages for a few weeks with a new PSU and then still remember to check periodically after.)

Re: PSU for Intel DP35DP
Thanks guys.
I look the look of Antec because they are reported reliable.
Do they all support EIDE drives.
Looks like the Antec 850 doesn't have those connectors?
Thanks

Re: PSU for Intel DP35DP
I've just seen they have Molex. That is the correct supply isn't it?
Wow! I've fallen behind.

Re: PSU for Intel DP35DP
Usually they will still provide at least 2 for IDE drives, and there are SATA power > IDE molex adaptors.
