XP Midi Timing

Hello all,
I have been having midi timing issues with XP Pro, Cubase 5.1, and the Unitor8mkII.
I have been using Yamaha's RM1X as a sound module running about 16 midi trax or more.
Everything runs smoothly and then the midi will stop / stick, the audio keeps going, and I have to reset the Unitor for it to continue again.
I don't know if this issue is XP, cubase, or the unitor.
I bought the unitor before steinberg came out w/ their line of 'no latency' timing w/ cubase so I'm not sure which angle to troubleshoot this issue.
Also, when I had everything setup on Win98SE the system was very solid (other than 98)...

try to change your priority settings in options/audio/system.
Much stable for me since I did it...hope this helps

For the moment I use Expert mode/normal1/Model3 (translation from french version...sorry but don't know in english). I don't have mouse and keyboard probs anymore.
