Just for laughs heres a castrated cover I did of Supertramp's 'Soap Box Opera' - it was probably the first cover I recorded using Scope when I just had a Pulsar. I may have inhaled something to get falsetto, I dont remember.... IMHO Prog Rock peaked around 1973 ( + or - one year ) with the following (mostly) british albums (pick the obvious exception lol) :
. Thick As A Brick (Jethro Tull)
. Passion Play (Jethro Tull)
. Tales Of Topographic Oceans (Yes)
. Roxy And Elsewhere (Frank Zappa)
. Dark Side Of The Moon (Pink Floyd)
. Crime Of The Century (SuperTramp)
. Crisis What Crisis (Supertramp)
. Tommy (London Philharmonic Orchestra)
. Foxtrot (Genesis)
. Selling England By The Pound (Genesis)
. Visions Of An Emerald Beyond (Mahavishnu Orchestra)
. Brain Salad Surgery (Emerson, Lake and Palmer)
. Felona e Sorona (Le Orme)
. School's Out (Alice Cooper)

Dante, You should add Brain Salad Surgery by ELP to your list and of course all the italian prog that was going on at that time like Le Orme to mention but one band.

Are we listening?..
Re: PROG ROCK COVER CIRCA 2000
Well, the ones I listed was more a subjective list of the ones I got into, but you're right, Brain Salad Surgery was big, (although I was more into Pictures at an Exhibition). I never heard Le Orme, but added to list anyway for completeness.
If its good for you, its good for me
