mystery solving cinema style
film score style short tune for a game I'm working on right now. Sort of a typical arrangement, but uses much less orchestration that what a real score would have. Very high bang for the number of notes.

It's good - beefier than a couple of the previous ones you've put. Reminds me of one that myself and publisher did for a Matrix soundtrack competition several years ago.

Coolness.
What Strings were you using.?
Very effective and reminiscient of some Tangos....
Nice job.

Synful orchestra, now my resident strings vsti. Also has awesome french horns.
Re: mystery solving cinema style
This inspired me to re-mix the Matrix track we did in '03.

Re: mystery solving cinema style
just looking back at old posts to grab files.
Jimmy, interesting caught on to the tango thing. The main inspiration for the game's tunes was all tango because I wanted do the whole "dancing with fate" thing with the game's mystery theme. Most of the tunes for the game wasn't straight up tango, but used the straight forward minor I II V progression with various treatments. For this one I did the progression, and also did a tango inspired syncopation in the bass, though no literal tango. I did want to preserve the "serious tango" intensity in how the melody and solos utilized the chord progression tho.
