When I was a kid we had the cops walk the beat, we knew all of them, we helped them catch thieves who lived outside of neighborhood, perverts, etc.
We actually worshipped the Black Trashmen, Fire Fighters and Cops when we were kids.
Now we get nervous bastards who carry guns and shoot you when you reach for your licesnse.
IMHO, once we started " caring " for criminals rights and making penalties like a vacation the crime rate has risen. Sure drugs are alot of the problems, but hardly bad enough to impison someone over.
But home invaders that kill, and rapists......These low lifes now are suppose to be studied and get HBO and their choice of crunchy or smooth Peanut Butter.
Hard Labor was a great deterrant before, bring it back and release these non violent drug offenders.
Sadly the elites profit from our great Prison for profit system owned by politicians and Hollywood elites.
Don't believe me...?
I am not a criminal but have been to County lock a few times, and transferred to Reno or Carson City or even the Federal Camp at Nellis AFB with the protected witness guys. Once hung out with Noriegas' bodyguard for a few weeks.
But at every Prison I went to I got to wear the Bob Barker Orange Jumpsuit, and the Bob Barker rubber tootbrushes, which couldn't be sharpened to stab the asshole whos' trying to jump you...
Nothing has destroyed our society more than political correctness and Trail Lawyers who get criminals off the hook.
Casey Anthony is only one of many.
Actually she inspired me to take my XWife hunting. I could get a mouthpiece lawyer to lie for me and explain my XWife accidentally put on the Elk Skin Coat and Elk Horn Davy Crockett hat w/o her bright Orange vest.......I'd be scott free and save thousands a year on alimony payments.

Don't forget to spay or nuter your pets..............Price Is Right........Mr. Green energy himself...........save the Planet by carbon trading prisoners farts, etc.

Jailtime is nothing here. It's why criminals break the rules without fear.
Russians come here and their organized crime members know they have a handsome salary waiting for them for assinating another rival. 5-8 years for a murder is nothing to them, our prisons are considered a reward and a badge of honor.
I always got busted for driving w/ illegal plates, or a DUI which means 2 Beers, or really stupid shit.
Now our jails are so fulll they just charge you more and you see a weekend of community service after 2 days of jailtime.
Even my son went to a Juvenile Facility for not telling me he had a warrant for not paying a curfew violation in the Soviet State of California when he visited his cousins. It's all about the money....
I actually had a guard bring me a carton of cigarettes for 50 bucks, and sold them for 10 bucks a smoke, ,so I did OK at the AFB. Met some of the nations most corrupt financiers and lawyers. It was nice screwing them for once, they are usually the ones always screwing me.

Amazing...

Yes, I can imagine the awful amount of people that there must be in jail today in the States for minor silly things like yours. I have never been in jail in my life fortunately, but, who knows... Now, to be in jail here, in Chile, it is a nightmare, as there is an over population of offenders and they live all together like chicken in a farm, it’s terrible and inhuman. The worst of it all, is that they get mixed without discrimination of serious offenders and people that had just drunk too much. Being together, the stronger guys dominate and torture psychologically those being actually, good people, it’s mad.

it pretty much explains the world we live in, correct?

the name Nimrod translates to "the Mighty Hunter". infact, the constellation Orion is a character inspired by Nimrod(Gilgamesh). in the Japanese Graphic Novel/Anime house Tpye\Moon's world, Gilgamesh is a guy who proclaims "i AM the rules" and "everything is already mine". the Mighty Hunter was known for hunting humans. he is the guy who said that "i'm your King and you belong to me. oppose me and die".

how DOEs government rule? through fear, mostly. fear that the government will thump you if you oppose it, fear that someone else may thump you, so that you need protection, fear of wars, famines and all other types of violence, all of which require a father figure to provide protection....it's the same formula that any mafia uses and it's what maintains the power structure. no one can say that the reason that the people who are in power is because they are the ones who care about humanity the most. a world run by those who had the most love and compassion for others would function in a completely different way.

in a modern world like we have, we NEED an organization to keep things running nicely. the question is, who is it all for? the answer is in the type of world that we have.

as to what "government through random acts of violence" really means, well, i don't find this hard to understand. just be willing to view the idea to it's complete and logical conclusion. 30,000 years of such a situation would logically create a world where you are concerned about a horrible war of destruction in every generation.

"In England a king hath little more to do than to make war and give away places; which in plain terms, is to impoverish the nation and set it together by the ears. A pretty business indeed for a man to be allowed eight hundred thousand sterling a year for, and worshipped into the bargain! Of more worth is one honest man to society and in the sight of God, than all the crowned ruffians that ever lived."

- Thomas Paine, from "Common Sense", January 10th 1776 (apparently a very important date for revolutions :) )
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

We need such men again.
Our military is full of brave patriots, but sadly our Capital is full of self serving cock suckers, and it's our fault as we were all making money, so we never really complained.
But now that that I got bent over and Congress drove it home, I am angry and ready to vote for any poor person, black, white, Indian, etc.
I'd love to see a full blooded Lakota Sioux as President, that would be great.

I think that in the whole of the world there is a control through fear and terror, it is evident everywhere, but there are countries suffering more than others with that. It seems to me that USA has suffered much with it already.

There is yet another method to keep people uninformed and out of their business: celebrity gossip, scandals and brainless things of the like, for instance heart talking TV and soap operas. I have been here, in Chile, for 10 years already. When I arrived, news where pretty much concerned about serious things, I mean, they would cover about 95% of real human problems, informing people of the troubles of the day. Today, news are a joke, they have become, slowly, to be 60% about celebrity criticism and stuff like that, they would take 10 minutes to tell you that such and such actress is fatter this summer than it was the last one, that Jenifer Lopes has made his butt even bigger than yesterday, etc., etc., there is a whole lot of RUBBISH in TV, constantly, focusing people’s minds in the most ridiculous, degrading and no-transcendental things you could possibly think off. Of course, when something is as clear as this, you ask yourself who is behind it, and what for exactly, what they are trying to do in this particular country. Chilean TV is in general revolting, what I can say.

That's not just Chilean TV, happens here I'm the states and in the UK and I'd assume any country that has corporate owned "mass media" where the parent corporation is an international conglomerate. 99% of the "real news" that these media outlets carry doesn't come from within their ownn walls either, the news anchors tend to just be there to look/sound good while reading legal-dept-approved boilerplate from Reuters & AP. So the next anti-Iran rhetoric you hear, remember it's 100% approved by multinational interests and their legal departments =P

Thanks, what you say makes total sense to me.

I try to be informed by vocational people anyway, guys we could call “real journalists”. those that are out of the system and are not interested in money, but reality. It works, but their capacity to cover what is going on is very small. And now, unfortunately, it seems that SOPA is going to harm our freedom much with their plan, so to keep us into the most outrageous ignorance while they perform this obscure hidden plan which is going on…

Unfortunately Rumania is following the path of Greece, and economic breakdown is coming for them too. While the FMI fights to inject more money, locals resist trying to stand up by themselves.

France is yet another country in danger of falling into a deep economic crisis, this is so difficult... poor fellows... :(

well, who knows what really goes down behind the scenes and who is really funding this. popular movements are very expensive. i wish everybody everywhere the best in any case, but i remain just a little bit cynical about all sides, the "good guys" and the "bad guys".

definition of a cynic? that would require knowing the difference between the optimist, pessimist and cynic.
the optimist will always loan uncle charlie $20
the pessimist will never loan uncle charlie $20
the cynic has already loaned uncle charlie $20

good night.

I don't think that there are any longer "good guys" and "bad guys" honestly, what I see is: confusion, political mess, dirty interests, egoism, unconsciousness, ethnical hatred, religious fanaticism and some thirst for blood… I see human values being forgotten and smashed onto the floor in every corner!

Nevertheless, I can understand street-people trying to get out from yet another dictatorship group of tyrants. Among the recent news about Syria, there is one that it has been totally proven to be true “the soldiers that denied killing citizens in a politician gathering recently, where executed by the regime”, and this is enough truth for me for the rest of the month.

I think that the point here it is not in which side we are, that is no longer relevant, because when a ship is sinking in the middle of the ocean all passengers are the same, you and me and everybody else, because we are all going to sink in the same ship and go under the surface of the same ocean.

Things are getting worse and worse every day. Quite a few people complained against me when I opened this thread because they perceived it as an impossible option, as a dream, but facts are demonstrating that it is not a dream or a joke, the possibility of a world war it is again really taking shape right now as the heat is rising up, and even if it makes no sense at all, the possibility of a new world between many nations has become more evident now that when I opened this thread. I would give you my bass to be smashed and then burned to ashes just for the sake of been wrong, I would be the happiest human being on earth if I was wrong. I would like to be wrong! I would like to be wrong! I would like to be wrong! I would like to be wrong! I would like to be wrong! I would like to be wrong! I would like to be wrong!

We sure are... no doubt, but don't miss my point, we all are victims in front of this.
