maybe i have to sell the Dell again.. and build a AMD based PC.
what i have learned from the last forum posts i had readed is that AMD has a better
PCI BUS in the moment. IS that correct ?
i think i had 10 PCs since im scoping .. and 3 of them where working properly with it.
So, "Scope is a bi**h ! but we love it."
Have you tried running dpc latency checker to see if there is a problematic driver or background program running? Google for it if not. Do you have a wireless interenet adapter? If internet is enabled try disabling it as well as Antivirus software.
There are all useless things disabled in the BIOS
LPT RS232 AUDIO .. ect.
for testing i have also disabled in the BIOS ..
USB
LAN
and of course antivirus. THe problem is that i can not change the problem with IRQ12
Scope and VGA. .. i have no space to move it around. One PCIe slot .. but it seems to be
on the same init then the other PCIe and one PCI slot.. so it is also IRQ12
THe Dell has to go now .. im a bit sad about that because i liked the solid case and handling.
I have ordered a AMD FM2 board..
the one i had posted on page1 with the PCI slot sharing list.
lets have a look and cross fingers .. i will keep you up to date. of course with a reverb test ..
Your dpc latency appears fine. Long as there is no huge spikes taking you into the red and increasing your 'Absolute maximum' to a very high number. Your Absolute Maximum is 405us wich is'nt great but sufficient for most situations i think. Just make sure you let the dpc latency checker run awhile if you did'nt cause sometimes things can appear fine for awhile then a huge spike appears.
It's probably as you suspect a conflict of hardware using irq. If you buy another computer try to get proven motherboard and graphic cards, don't install any unnecessary software that come with your motherboard's software.
it is overall crackeling .. everytime a new windows pops up .. for example if i press CTRL ALT DEL.
or if i use the scrollbar in a bigger window..
PS ableton is in demo mode.. because ableton dont like me any more because of 100 times reinstalling and ordering
new activation requests. so i try it first in demo mode..
SCOPE has several different Asio modules so make sure you try them all. I had a driver problem once before and switching to a different Asio module strangely did solve the problem. Did you try a different DAW to further deduce (Not asking you to permanently switch DAW's only asking if you tried another DAW to see if the problem leaves or not)?
Is there no crackling if you use a different sound card? If you don't have another card or USB/Firewire interface, you could enable motherboard audio and use Asio4All.
Same for the DAW - try using Reaper (free to try), see if that makes a difference.
If you leave the Samplerate dialog open in Scope, do you see a constant value for Clock? (44.1/48/whatever).
Are you using a Wifi card for Network access? Try disabling that...
Disable all startup un-necessaries, by running msconfig in the Run dialog, and disabling Programs and Services from automatic startup. Don't be wreckless with the set of stuff you disable - if you don't recognise something, google it.
Same goes for active processes: in Taskmanager, is there anything running there that you don't recognise (even after googling each item). Note that Win7's task manager will show the full path to the running program, making accurate googling far easier.
Any device drivers out of date? Since you've disabled lots of stuff in the BIOS, then you'll have fewer devices to check!
You could also try running a Memory Tester.
If there was a point in the recent past that you didn't get this crackling behaviour, you could consider rolling back to a Restore Point. Check in the Control Panel what Restore Points you have available to you. Only do this if you -need- to - it will roll back the registry and drivers to a point in time, so anything you've installed since that time (including Demo versions of Ableton!) will not work properly, and would require a clean reinstall.
And, as sounddesigner said, to try to swap out ASIO drivers in Scope.
yes i had a working system but i can not recover ,, it was a P4 1ghz with intel 845
The system is now the second i am actually trying. First was the dell .. if you move a bit back you will see.
there i had a shared IRQ with VGA.. also on the dell i had disabled everything in the bios. And on startup.
Now on the AMD FM2 .. i have also disabled all bios tweaks regarding the CPU. I have no antivirus. And the latest drivers.
No wifi, but i will try all the things that are postet here.
with reaper i had now dowloaded a demo song with some audio tracks.. very less crackeling even with 3ms latency.
but it is a bit crackeling.
i will attach a screenshot of the bios settigs.. in a second.
I have tested all asio types. no change.
Stopt processes from starting. no change
now i try to use a dedicated GFX card.
wired is that is totaly the same as with the DELL PC ..
same crackels .. same ... same even the new amd is not faster than the 4 year old dell with the q6600
same same .. with pcie VGA card...
who is interested .. even with PCIe card no IRQ sharings.. but who cares...
PS. now i will clean the sidwalk from the snow.. and meanwhile windows xp is installing.
maybe the snow and the fresh air.. will cool my mind a bit down
Try and only install one of you pulsar's physically at a time, and see if you can make your system run without producing crackles. If you have a defect card, you should be able to isolate it this way.
i will try... but i dont think a broken pulsar will cause problems only if i scroll around in a window.. or if something pops up on the screen .. but lets see.
first i try installing xp now.. and only onboard audio with asio4all
i will report.
