I was just dribbling over the SRB offers on creamware site today wondering whether I could afford to spend even more of my hard earned cash on music toys.

Then on the way home, I pop by my local bike shop to see if they have had any luck selling my old motorbike (its on sale or return) and what do I discover?

They have vanished. The shop is empty, all the bikes are gone! Bastards have done a runner! thats £2grand down the gutter (2 of those special SRB offers or 30dsps).

Shit!

Sorry to hear about your disposition.

Cheers,

Its been a real tale of woe when it comes to me and bikes. I thought it was gonna be a cheap alternative to london public transport.

Check this out.

I bought my first bike 3 years ago. A 125 aprilia. Within 2 months I got caught doing 45mph on a 30mph dual carraigeway and got a speeding fine, 3 points and £40 fine. A month later the bike got stolen, then recovered by police. that cost £400 in repair and recovery costs. Then I got a flat tyre from glass and had to replace tyre.

I passed my full test and decided to go for a bigger bike so I sold the aprilia and bought a suzuki gsxr400. This bike turned out to be completely cursed! Things started of ok. But about 4 months after buying it the engine blew up - it ran out of oil only a few months after having it serviced so I can only imagine a leak. I get a replacement engine fitted (£700) and treat myself to some new tyres while im at it (£300).
A few days later another puncture! and becuase of the puncture the damn thing falls of its stand and crashes to the ground leaving nasty scratches on it.

So I reckon its time to get rid of this thing - its a bit small for me anyway. So they are selling new kawasaki zx6rs cheaply with insurance offers. So i splash out on one of these sparkly things. 2 months later, on the day Ive finished tarting it up (nice exhaust can, tidied up the backend, small indicators - barryfications to be precise), 1 week before christmas I am coming home from meeting some friends in down going up a road I know well when I hit an invisible ice patch...Ahhhggh Bike skids of down the road in front of me, I slide behind and the thing carears of, hits the pavment, twists onto the other side. the engine cracks, empties of oil. Bah, insurance writeoff. That cost a grand in insurance excess and replaceing the alarm etc.

Ive now got the new bike and I decided to put the old bike for sale in the shop round the corner (where i got my first bike) I didnt bother renewing the insurance cos I figured It was unlikely to get nicked from the shop! I never expected the shop to steal it!

I still count myself lucky to be in one piece after my relatively minor accident - and am greatful I still have my current bike. I dont like public transport or cars since I started hving panic attacks last summer so my bike is about the only way i get around.

Very sorry to hear they got away with your Bike Orbital. After all it was your investment from hard work. I must admit that I don't like cars or public transportation either, actually this year I "was" planned to get a car.. but...humm... I ended with a couple of CW cards.., so I understand your position. I really hope the law make them pay very soon.

My studio partner (Mr Hardware) bought his first synth after a motorbike accident. He somersaulted over a car and luckily landed in a soft, earthy garden (instead of, say, against a metal pole or concrete wall) and just stood up and was fine !

But he decided his lucky escape was a sign so bought a synth with the insurance money.

In your case surely the police can track these guys down ? There are too many things needed ID-wise to set up a shop....
