Incidentally, Scope relies on mimicking the setups (interfaces) used in traditional physical studios. That is quite interesting, in the context of whatever it is that is getting discussed. My interest in the Tape Echo from DNA is because I used to own a WEM Copicat about 35 years ago. There is a huge debate about this skeuomorphic design - see this

Scope does not relies on that.
Some developers (including me for some devices) choose that type of design for aesthetic reasons.

If you've used that device for 35 years you don't need to worry. You have a lot of time in front of you.
