hi!
i just got my new AMD 2000 with gigabyte GA-DX+ mobo and 512 DDR ram.
i freshly installed windows xp and tweeked it thoroughly.
as long as im working, everything works great to say the least.
BUT
if i go to watch tv, for an hour or tow and come back, SFP halts, and does not respond to my clicks.
i installed 3.1a and it didnt work.
what can this be? my system is cool enough..
help!
SFP halts when not used for a while
Hey dude, that happens here too but I think that it is only somthing small that you can adjust inside the setting dialog or somewhere like that. It should say somthing about refreshing the board or somthing... you will know it when you see it... sorry if that is not very helpfull, but my computer is not here that has the pulsar in it so I cant find it for you.. Later man,
CAPO
i have noticed that the drivers have an option:
Powermanagement
Allow standby *always
*with background project
*with no aplication using the hardware
Reset board if idle (wich a check box)
"always" and "with background project" are blank and unselectable and only "with no aplication using the hardware" is checked. Reset board if idle was checked and i uncecked it, but still didnt work.

I don't know anything about PC's... but I know sometimes if I allow my sytem (Mac) to go to "Sleep".... sometimes the Pulsar doesn't wake up.
Do you have some kind of power management in Windows putting your computer to sleep? If so, just try turning it off and see if that makes any difference.
It worked for me

One thing I know is that XP won't go into standby cos CW's drivers (and hardware) are not compatible w Standby Mode. If your comp tends to go in standby anyhow, prevent it from doing that by checking your OS' powersaving mode.
Another hint: don't use screensavers, just let the system turn off your monitors.

I have a problem in w2K where suddenly the screen space occupied by the routing window or the stm2448 would become gray and then SFP becomes unresponsive to anything. The only thing I can do is kill the sfp task and reload. Is this similiar to what is happening to you? I'm running back on win98selite now to see if it happens there. It might be a win2000/winxp thang.
