Already have my 4U for gigs, a Spare of the same parts.
But now this new PC is going to be built.
I absolutely swear by i7 4790k CPUs and ASRock Z97s.
This newest will be the thick server PCB from ASRock.
RAM DIMMs are designed for front to back case fans and airflow.
3 x 22,000rpm fans, and a Dynatron 1U HSF for CPU.
Case temps are 32C and CPU at full synth use is 53C.
AMD Ryzen knocked the CPU and Mobo down from 600 bucks 350 USD...Ankyu.
RAM is 115 USD for 32GBs since it's just not as popular and sitting on shelves.

Re: XITE-1 Rack of Death
EXCELLENT NEWS...
My 4U has no more TC Fireworx.
I do have 4 of them for the FOH FX. But that is a separate Rack.
My new 4U is an XITE-1, A16, Radial Space Heater and the 1U PC.
The 22,000rpm fans are loud as a Vacuum Cleaner.
But quiet when set in the BIOS for recording if need be.
I just don't need be these days.
I want a loud ass, life threatening powerful PC.
Cheers

Nice but no Harley badge.
Re: XITE-1 Rack of Death
Well I am on my Ferrofish
Re: XITE-1 Rack of Death
Ankyu...
Yes the 1U works great.
I got 2 x Z97 spares.
One is a watercooled tower, the other a 4U water cooled beast.
My Lian Li case awaits a Ryzen 5/4 Core HTPC.
I should be good on PCs for years now.

Hey DAW man what is Ankyu RAM? - Any links please - thanks
On the topic of AsRock motherboards they have some critics saying that the boards are a bit flimsy / bendy and prone to warping inside the case if a big GPU is attached.
I've got one AsRock on X99 and though it's not been used yet I can see it is a little more flimsy than say an Asus - I've not had any AsRock Z97 motherboards so can't comment but ask which specific Z97 AsRock motherboards have you got?

Re: XITE-1 Rack of Death
Story for being late.
The ASRock Extreme 6 boards.
3 of them.
I had 4 but when my system gagged in the high humidity and heat last summer I ditched everything. Probably should have kept it but couldn't tell what parts went bad.
As far as flimsy I agree, they aren't solid like a server board.
Supermicro make the very best.
Since buying the MasterCooler 92 as an AIO CPU Cooler I haven't had any issues.
GaryB will build my 4U AMD in June.
I pray these chips don't screw up Scopes ASIO Drivers like Z170/270/B150 and H170s do.
