my additions to algorythm's list:

praise:
- motorized faders! (at this price, it's outrageous)
- relatively compact

blame:
- doesn't store master/slave clock setting in the 'scene' storage

i haven't even touched the effects. they're not the reason i bought it, and like algorythm said, they're kindof a pain to use...

it's satisfying my needs perfectly. i described how i use it <a href="http://planetz.ghostwheel.com/forums/vi ... um=1">over here</a>.

hey Subs, I replaced my old korg 168rc with the VM200 and it,s very sweet..

I just made a control surface environment for lap as well, full motor fader snapshots.

great little desk for £400.

I have the following mixers here right now:

Spirit 328
Yamaha 03D (replaced 01v)
Fostex VM200
Korg 168RC

They are all for sale. We use A16 Ultras now... ahh, much easier to work with for us.

My mixer is the stm together with a 16 ultra SPL Goldmike and Behringer ha 4600...
I´m using it for monitoring and talkback like a real hardware-mixer. (I have a seperate recording room).
I´m thinking about a controller like LC...
For fast access to talkback, I´m using NI 4 Control.
For me, the mixer is Creamwares best piece!
Since I got Scope SP (now sfp) I sold my Mackie 8 Bus (analog)...

By the way:
since I upgraded T.C. Powercore, all my Logic-Projects are lost if there is a MasterX inside!
I had to go back to the previous version!
Compatibility seems to be not only CW problem

I am using a Roland VM3100 pro which has some decent effects and works great as an input to the pulsar Adat. When I bought it, it was even cheaper than an A16, and you get effects and MIDI remote controls. (although only 8 ADAT inputs..)

I've been digging around for a digital mixer and/or midi controller surface for some time now.

I've been focused on Yamaha 01V most of the time since that's about what I can get for the budget I'm on. However, the other day I extended that budget just a little bit (yup, pasta on the table the next 6 months

P) and are probably going to go for a Behringer DDX-3216 tomorrow. US market prices seems to be around $1800-1900 for a new unit with 16 port ADAT (not US resident myself).

Does anyone have any first, second or thirdhand experience from that device? Any reason why I should not go for it.

Also, a little suggestion: maybe this planet could have lists of different devices that can be connected to our creamcards? I'm no audio pro, but I've been surfing around several days just to try and find different ADAT enabled A/D converters, digital mixers or suitable midi controller boards. Just having the list of the devices would be a very good start for anyone looking for external hardware to support the creamware platform - but if the lists also would also contain user reviews, warnings or other comments along with estimated price ranges, then it would be a goldmine. It wouldn't have to be ultra-accurate - any info would be useful.

@ subhuman Roland Vm3100 is cheap, but the worst one in handling. Newest OS is a must and you are in need of the optional RBUS interface because the mixer uses tdat, not adat is about additional 600 bucks (and worth perhaps 6 or 8 bucks).
The handling is quite frustrating because of the triple layering of the buttons. I really can´t recommend it. There are definately better things out for the money.
