I spent time examining soft version through an oscilloscope to see how she works and I’ve noticed it has an in built clipper which can be very nice at certain settings but destroys the sound of overdone. I haven’t tried the dNa ones yet but would be interested if anyone’s tested any other plugins to see how they differ.

I tried this on single instruments as Valis suggested and the transparency is great if done correctly. It trips less if pushed hard and the clipping is controlled by the threshold settings. Really nice compressor. Doesn’t colour than sound
