Artichoke ensamble
thanks michu. looks unconventionally fun
.
i'd love to try it out but....yak, yak, yak. i don't have v3 yet.
haven't ever figured out what good the gate or module does, neither the esync for that matter. one patch in particular hooking up esync for the envelopes "gates" all the envelopes, even though they may not all neccesarilly have short releases.

Gate-or passes thru gate impulse if this is first impulse after releasing all keys. it is useful for retriggering monofonic step-sequencers in polyphonic patch, ie if you press key, then another one without releasing former, then gate-or will not pass gate pulse so you will have 2 voices plaing the same sequence.haven't ever figured out what good the gate or module does,
hope this makes some sense.
I think it is resposible for proper operation of voice stealing routine. haven't got into hacking it in unconvetional way. what patch do you refer to?neither the esync for that matter. one patch in particular hooking up esync for the envelopes "gates" all the envelopes, even though they may not all neccesarilly have short releases.
hey, thanks michu.
i get what the gate or module does now. that actually sounds like it could have quite a bit of uses besides just for sequencers.
all it says in the manual is something vague like this "this is used mainly for retriggering for e.g sequencers on gate on".
re: esync, yah...i forgot about the voice stealing routine. your probobly right about that (i think it mentions this in the manual). the patch i mentioned which esync was doing funny things was a 4 part modulized drum patch with built-in sequencing. on my rendition of the drum synth (which i later found out how to do with MUCH fewer modules, care of the ringing filter tut on cw's site) there were quite a few envelopes, and when i had them all hooked up to that sections esync (was using esync adders), if any of the envelopes would close it would stop all the others.
i think there is some more on what exactly is going on with the esync (signals something to restart at zero). i'd have to read up a bit though.
yah, it'd be neat to figure out some unconventional way to use esync. actually quite a lot of the modules and signals could be put to different uses. my main problem is not knowing what sort of signal things like sync, esync, and gate, inputs are looking for. its sounds really cut and dry in the nord modular but doesn't seem the case with our modular.
outro.
