"Cannot set registry entry" re administrator right?

Post by Gary_101 »

hi people,

Just got an improved PC setup to host my upcoming upgrade to Scope v7. I migrated my PULSAR 1 & 2 boards over successfully, finally got Win10 to get past the "ERROR: InstallDriver returned -2" thing, seems like both boards are recognized now. Trying out my old Scope 5.1 software and ...

Trying to load one of my previous projects, I get the error, "not enough sequencer MIDI source drivers installed. Do you want to add another driver?" I get the error, "cannot set registry entry. you must have administrator rights..." I actually am the administrator of the PC.

Wondering what is causing this? Thanks for any help or pointers!

v5.1 is really not meant to run in win10. win10 is different than earlier versions of windows.
first, the v5.1 driver is not signed and win10 requires a signed driver. you will need to reinstall the driver next big update, and win10 must be updated.
in win10 Scope must be run "as administrator". to do so, when starting Scope, right click on the Scope icon and choose "run as administrator".
