Plenty of time indeed

All based on samples, except the bassline which I played by myself.

The ridm is built just with a one measure drumloop (supplemented by a cymbal sample).
The few drum variations are made in Phatmatic Pro, dirived from that same drumloop (thanks again for the tip, Algo

).

The dubwise delays on some parts are created with the wild MFM delay, mentioned recently elsewhere on Planetz, by Algo again.

For fun I placed all applied samples at the end of the song, check it out.

I call it: Beans Bones & Happiness...

Nice beats.. err.. loop. Something tells me I want to put some keys on this.. The different samples implies a chord progression, which... I think would sound very nice. But maybe a bit 90's-ish. dunno. Maybe it's the swing that suggests a little of bobby brown/c&c.

hehe - pretty cool. I agree with Ken - it is a good skeleton but it needs a bit more in the drum fills (don't be shy, be pHat!). I like Ken's key part, but something more Rhodesy and less acoustic sounding, IMHO . . .

Yes, the MFM is our friend, hehe. and the pHat - ahhhhhh

oh, and that nasal vibrato sound is awful! no offense, it just irks me for some reason - it sounds like a halloween toy or something . . .

Ken, nice a-n-d weird to hear my song with a third party

contribution.
I'm not into that kind of music (B. Brown, c&c ...??), and as you say it's a bit loud mixed-in, so for me it's a bit difficult to get the right feeling with it.

Are you sure about the harmonic content of what you did?
Well, it's what you're good in I guess.
Your fingers must have burned, hearing those 'real played' piano samples

Algo, I think more drum fills are right possible, and for me it's quit simple to make lots of it (as isn't with melodic stuff), for sure with the pHat around!
At the same time: if really something is lacking in the song, it wouldn't be solved by more drumfills I guess.

I have a voice in my mind to put in, actually a real life sample of a speach of a well known but died woman I don't wanne reveal here and now.
I checked already the publishing costs, would be over EUR 500,-.
May be I come back to this later.

That vibrato sound, you mean by this that thin but cutting organ sound?
It should be 'moving', but not in a horror way I hope

So, the overall conclusion: bad harmonic and rhythmic content, haha

What's left, uh the sound...well it should be lo-fi...

naahh.. I didn't mean that anything was bad.. I just meant those were the progressions that seemed "implied" and that really made itch and twitch. That's heck of a tense effect though. Kind of like what happens in extremely percussive R&B. There's like bits and pieces of a chord, but not a whole chord... so you kind of like put it together in you head, and that makes it "feel" like the chord is there, but it's not actually there. Musical impressionism?

Actually, I was kind of sneaky with the harmonization.. cuz it collides with your bassline... But all's cool. This whole inspiration from other people's tunes thing. hehe.

Hi Hubert

I really like this one. Chilled. Extremely coool samples and sounds. Alright, you know me, as algo said, more attention to the percussion side of things. Though it's fine as is, that's just me. Whose your target audience anyway? Definitely invest in the vocal sample, I'm sure you'll use it somewhere. Maybe some jazz club ambience somewhere along the way, yeah that would be really cool.
