Hi,
I have two questions.
My setup is Pulsar1 + scope srb on PIII866 CUCL II
1)Is it better if the two cards share the same irq or not ?
2) Do you think i should set the scope as first board (board=0) and the pulsar as second board (board=1) ?
Thanks for replying.
same irq for pulsar1 + scope srb
Hi,
1-> If you have more than enough free IRQ's, it shouldn't matter. If you're tight on IRQ's, put them on the same IRQ. On my XP ACPI config, I let them XP decide.
Also important is the slot you put it in. The second slot is best. The first slot shares with AGP, so it's not so good for our DSP cards.
Which slot is best depends on chipset and information about it is hard to find usually. Slot 2 (skip 1 under AGP) will be best 95% of the time AFAIK. [EDIT]Your 815 chipset slot1 does not share with AGP.
2-> Put the Scope first, then Pulsar1. 2 reasons:
1) Scope is a 2nd generation card
2) As Scope is the biggest card, it will processes most sampling, effects. If you set your mixer to Scope, you'll save lots of STDM bandwidth. Add drivers which will contact the first card, and you got yourself an efficient setup!
Good luck,
at0m.

I think SFP determines board order (which DSP is loaded first) according to PCI slot location. You can change this by editing cset.ini
[hw]
[board0]
boardid=1
[board1]
boardid=0
If you have boards with different numbers of sharcs you can check the dsp meter to see which is board1.

My Tusl2-c does not share IRQ between AGP and slot 1/5.
I think I recall Ingo once saying, that it does not make a big difference, if Pulsar cards share IRQ or not. What does make a difference is, if they share IRQs with non-CW devices.
