I made the first version very light, since I wanted 16 voices simultaneously on my Pulsar 2 card. However, I realized that I didn't really need 16 voices in a leadsynth so I added a Uknow osc, a multimode filter, 2 insert FX and a third ADSR controller, and the result was a synth that I will definitely use for my own production projects.

The sound can be very sweet and gentle, but you can also get some powerful trance leads if you tweak the presets. The synth is easy to learn, once you realize my idea: Three separate sound sources, each with its own filter and ADSR controller. The three sources are mixed together into two channels, left and right, and the stereo signal is sent through the FX part of the patch. Listen to the MP3 demo for some examples of the sound.

Ideas on improvements are welcome. Once this cutie works exactly the way I want it to, it will get a better name than just "leadsynth 2".

Sounds good. You really like delay, don't you?

Not really... I just didn't spend any serious time on adjusting the delay. As always with modular synths, every user have to adjust the patch to fit his/her needs. I just wanted to give some examples...

Also, I should mention that I recorded the sound demo live, with the tiny melodies improvised and played by hand (with no external fx). No sequencer was used, as you can hear by the misplaced and out-of-sync notes. Hey, it was in the middle of the night, haha... The most important thing is that you get an idea of the sounds that the patch can give you.

If there is enough interest, I will post an updated preset list with sounds in different categories (pads, leads, arp, e-piano etc.). Good idea?

I've downloaded, but not installed this yet, but wanted to say that I think your demo sounds are good. It's always nice to have an MP3 with the device.

Also, your idea about presets is excellent. Where most synths fall down in my opinion is that they have too few presets or that the presets don't adequately show off the device.

If the creator can't make good presets then how is everyone else to be inspired.

Of course this is often the hardest and sometimes most lengthy part....

Spirit: You're right about the importance of presets. Even though many musicians prefer to create own sounds, it is always good with a starting point. Also, I think that it is important that I include some presets that shows what I want the synth to do.

If you install the patch, feel free to give me comments and suggestions on improvements and/or changes. This is not the final version of the patch, so all comments and ideas are welcome and very appreciated.

I've posted this patch to the Creamware website "Modular area". Anyone who wants to use this patch may post it on websites and so on. Just link to this thread if you do... =)

Does anyone know how long it takes for creamware to update their "modular area" on the website?

Try to reduce the number of voices to 2 or 4.

Haha, hey there... =) I'm glad to hear that you liked it. If you have ModIII, then check out the other modular patches I've posted here... "Spectrum" is the newest one.

We have a lovely weather here in the south, haha...

Nice seeing you here, by the way. I didn't really know that you were a Pulsar user! I'll send you an e-mail in a few days, as soon as "Into my heart" - featuring Åsa - goes online at beatmaka.com.
