that´s just a question and no offense!
please discuss it. especially americans.
i would like to know more about the "real" reasons for this war and what´s in peoples mind.
in my opinion war is the worst solution to solve any problem. i can´t understand why bush wants to fight this war(the oil is factor i guess).

please respect your different opinions!

This needs to be moved to the off topic category.

NOOO! Please not this pointless discussion!! This was one of the few forums left where it hadn't reared it's ugly head, until now.
Hasn't everything about this thing been said too many times already?

this is just one topic in this forum and i cannot see the problem to talk about our (the worlds) future.
so come on artists raise your voice if you have to say something.
mabye this isn´t the quite right place to discuss this but if you don´t want to discuss it here, where do you want to do it then??

come on
or are you scared about big brother?

sorry helldriver, I agree with King, it will end in a mess (and unfortunately your subject is shouting already  )
Check out the last thread about this very subject, it was a war on it's own.

Besides, most of us have about the same leftwing political attitude, just a very very few think really different, so why would we start repeating each other's opinions.
Everybody here is well informed, as you seem to be also, and all political positions and arguments sure are well known by all of us.
I will be amused when someone makes his political point in a humorous way in a side track of his post, for me that is enough.

What again is the title of that old Rolling Stones song, eh, common, it says 'coz you play with fire'...

I do not want to discuss it at all anymore. As I said, I've seen it discussed on many other forums already, and I even participated in some discussions. In the end, it all turned into a great big mess. Most people will be against the war, then there's usually a not quite so left-wing american who says it might be a good thing, and off you go into a big pointless debate with no end.
The fact that we have an opinion about it won't change the outcome one bit.

See, now we're almost having an argument about talking about the war!

One place the war shouldn't enter is our minds. Play some music in your head instead. Play it over, and over, and over.. loop it, slice it, reverse some parts, and then play that over, and over, and over...

Yesterday, this Indonesian folk song I learned in Indonesian class just wouldn't stop looping. In Indonesian!

Naik naik ke puncak gunung
Tingi tingi sekali

I can just remember the "sound" of the words, but not the meaning! Man, that was irritating. Okay.. that was a bit OT. No disrespect intended.

I tend to agree with da "King of snake" some of the way. I myself have participated in a few wardiscussions on other boards, and they all turned out ugly, and dug out the worsed side in a lot of people, from whom I would have expected otherwise.

Now, I think this topic is very interesting and extremely important, but I wouldn't risk to destroy the great atmospheare here on PlanetZ with this discussion.
I sincerely hope that people here will keep on behaving civilized, and refrain from starting a fight with people they otherwise have so much in commen with.

is it so hard to discuss war and peace?
hundreds or maybe thousands of people will die whilst we are driving our cars, having fun, and don´t want to discuss.
if no one is interested in a discussion.
so please.
i always thought espcially the americans love peace but it seems to be that there is a lot of people who wants this war.
sad.

well as I said, I've already been in this discussion elsewhere, but even so I agree it's of course a very important topic. But what is the use of me or you or anyone saying now at this moment "I am against this war", when it is already unavoideable. And due to all the excessive media attention, and how long this has been building up, I must say I'm not even sure of my own opinion anymore? I am against war, but hey, "if they can get rid of Saddam, maybe it's justified after all"
It's very hard to even have an opinion about it, because it is so complicated. This is not just about the war, but about a million other things, small and large.
i always thought espcially the americans love peace
I'd say you really have to catch up on your history books then! Or to quote general Patton (in the movie "Patton") "Real Americans love to fight, that is why we have never lost-, and will never lose a war"

Of course, everyone if free to discuss this as far as I'm concerned. I just don't think there's much to be said that hasn't been said already.

As an American, I would like to voice my opinion on the subject:

I wish there were more nude protesters. I think if there were more nude protesters, there wouldn't be any need for war because we would be too busy looking at the nude protesters.

Thank you.

imho it's really the wrong place here to 'discuss' that item and one very important point is that there isn't really anything to 'discuss'.
There are 3 parties: the pro, the con and the dunno. None of the first two will even listen to the other one, let alone accept the right of a different opinion, and the 'dunno' of course won't contribute much.

Nevertheless I'd like to mention a psyche effect called 'meme' which is described as a kind of mental 'virus'.
I've first read about it in relation to computer virus hysteria but it's considered to be present almost ever since communication exists.
Specially in todays mass media global spread of news it's an important mechanism, so better watch out.

cheers, Tom

Note to Michu: Very well. You asked for it!

I thought it would be a great way to pick up chicks and I was right. Her & I will be getting together next weekend over cocktails.

Note to Astroman: Now I understand why you call yourself Astroman.
