I just discovered something in Windows that eliminated crackling in the Cubase SX demo. If you press "Ctrl-Alt-Del" on your keyboard which brings up a list of currently running processes, you can right-click on a program that is running and set it to high priority mode. Setting Cubase to high priority eliminated crackling, however I have to do that every time I bring up the program. But I only have the demo, and I don't intend to switch, so I won't have to do that.

Just a tip....

Same setting if you change priority inside Cubase SX. Then it will be set every time you run it. (also see registry hint to run SFP in Low Priority)

where can i change priority in sx
...I am also interested. The manual doesn't say a word about setting priority for Cubase SX inside the program.

And how to put SFP priority to "low" automatically? With the help of the registry? I appreciate some more details

In the Tips & Tricks section you can find the reg-key for Windows 2000. If this would work for XP I don't know, since Bill Gates burried DOS officially since the release of XP. However in Cubase SX there must be a option to set its priority. Don't know where since I use Logic. See this link:

Have you experienced any problem with plugins setting the app in high-priority mode ? If you set logic audio for example in high priority mode, you'll experience lots of crackles and strange behaviour with various plugins...

Share here your experience please.

Thanks in advance

right click on the taskbar > processes >
choose the task that you want to the
priority > right click > set priority and
and check what the changes do to your sx nor sfp .
i change sx/pulsar and its work fine ,
