Tired of PCI overflow!!! CREAMWARE, please DO SOMETHING !!!
I got an Athlon 1OOO and an Abit KT7 RAID,
and I cant use the 16 busses in Asio 24/96.
Maybe is it time for creamware to think about
some via optimisation...
Lots of users seem to be upset when I talk with em on different chats... Creamware should do smth if
they want to keep their customers, because other audio
cards give no problems with via...
Personnally, I'd like to put a Pulsar XTC/3 ADAT
in addition of my pulsar I, and I wouldn't like to change
my motherboard, 'cause the RAID controller is powerfull,
and AMD processors are kickass for FPU...

To say it again: There is nothing we can do because it is not a fault of our products (besides the fact that a virtual studio on a PCI card naturally requires more PCI transfer than a stereo IO card).
The problem with the VIA chip set is well known and appears with all card that need good PCI performance.

Ingo the problem is allways the same: instead of loading the DSP modules in onboard memory chips, Pulsar use the computer's RAM.
This, and only this, is the reason of the PCI overflows.
Sure that are motherboards like ASUS CUSL-2 that bring a better performance to Pulsar; but even you free for complete the PCI bus from HDs data traffic, is very easy to reach the limit of the PCI bandwith, mainly for Pulsar I users (not my case but yes of most people).
This, if you don't use high performance SCSI HDs like me, that are forced to use the PCI bus.
How much more could cost to design a Pulsar III with enough memory chips onboard?
Why CreamWare reject to give the users this type of alternative?

It's not just Creamware man, it's any card that really pushes the PCI bus. RME hammerfall is a completely different card which doesn't do anything other than I/O. If that's what you want, then buy it, but if you want the power and flexibility of a Creamware system, DO YOUR HOMEWORK FIRST.
Sorry, but every BBS and Pulsar mailing list says STAY AWAY from VIA chipsets.

the problem will always stay the same... you have a fixed stream of lines where cars can drive through. and that´s no real problem if they are still driving the same direction but... when this cars are processing and going back and cross ... there is rushhour! and you can buy a car as fast as possible-the highway will stay the same!
