I thought that a lot of the coffee shops in Amsterdam grew it themselves ? I'm sure I remember seeing a lot of plants kicking about in the shops I was buying from . . .

but maybe I was just stoned !

there's a strange (too small) but hard limit (50 gram?) in how much the shops are alowed to have in the house.
so if you saw what you think you saw, it must be a irregulary phenomenon.
Shop owners mostly are very careful to stay inside the juridical limits.
No black working personnel, perfect book keeping, constructive cooperation with the local authorities, etc.

Last week the police in my town have applied a new trick to allocate the home growers.
They drived around by night with a infra red camera normaly used by the fire brigade.
Where it's warm, it's red on the monitor.

Normally the police must have a reasonable suspicion of an offense of the law to go inside peoples houses.
Now, with the camera trick, everybody is suspect, but it seems to bother anybody.

I think prices will rise soon, coz it's damn easy to find all the home growers in short time.

well, then tell your folks that it's not the temperature, but the amount of ultra-violet radiation which stimulates the alkaloid production in the plant
You can keep them at regular temperature and apply the energy light during daytime, at least that's what I remember

cheers, Tom

in daytime it's getting too hot with all the power growlights.
you need the cooling with the nightly air I guess.

well, for me that's > 20 years ago, and I didn't know people warm their plants by infrared bulbs today
What I meant was to have them at regular room temperature but apply some solarium light (UVA) which is cold bulbs, or even UVC (careful with the eyes !) from time to time. I guessed this from the fact that many good 'brands' are actually from mountain regions

Where I live only the County is allowed to sell hard alcohol. I wonder if the clerk would object if I call him a drug dealer the next time I drop by to pick up my weekly bottle of rum?

SWIM: It's a few miles north of Washington DC, and south of DC in Virginia only the State of Virginia can sell hard alcohol but you can get beer in the 7-11.
