I’ve just realized I already got something to restore my system, make images of the HD, etc. It is called The FarStone RestoreIT! V.3.03 Built 20020708 Professional Version so perhaps I can pass on getting PowerQuest Drive Image, to save some money.

I have just yesterday been said by you Dark to use Drive Image, but if this software it’s not conflictive or bad, I would prefer to us it, cos I already own it. What can you tell me about this?

I personally don’t know, cos I’ve never used a restoration software so far, but I guess it’s SOOOO important, that even if the software came for free with your hardware (like it is my case with the MSI FX 5600), if it is not reliable enough, I would buy Drive Image anyway!

Any suggestion or experienced about this software is welcomed. Thanks.

I'd still recommend drive image or norton ghost. they're both tried and true. I've never used them tho...

Hi Nestor,

I second Ken's opinion on this one. I just googled the program you described, and it seems like its something that's continuously on and dynamically backs up your stuff to a hidden partition on your HD somewhere.. sounds a bit dodgy to me personally, but you're welcome to try it of course. DriveImage/Ghost are a lot cheaper too.

Cheers Ken and Dark for your answers...

So, in this case I would just let the XP system restore back up to do the job, I understand... uggg... Why can't they add some real goodies to their hardware, or just nothing instad of bothering with something like that, that, nevertheless, you can find in XP?

Back to Drive Image so...

Can I get the version 6.0 which is cheaper, is that good enought, or should I get the 7.0? Which one do you use Dark?

Yes Nestor, it sounds like some kind of SystemRestore on steroids... not my cup of tea at all.

I'm using DriveImage 2002. There are a number of different versions, for example Drive Image Pro. The one I'm using works great for me however.

I'll probably will get the same than you, cos I understand that Drive Image 2002 is in fact, version 6.0, if I'm not wrong.

I'll let you know which was my own experience with this... Cheers...

Yes Nestor, I believe it is... the about box on mine says it's build 60.048.

So either it's version 6 or version 60
