I've connected to my A16 Ultra both balanced and unbalanced cables.
The balanced ones for Mic (in), Compressors (in) and active monitors (out)
The unbalanced for synths (in), Headphonme-Amp (out) and Hi-fi Amp (just as a 2nd monitor source, out)

Someone told me, that the resistors of the A16 don't like balanced and unbalanced connections side by side together. And that there is the possibility of damaging the I/Os.

Is this true???
I ask, beause my old A16 Mark I had become a damage in the I/O.

MArk 1 ? i suppose it the Blue (or blackµ?) Adat analog ADAT converter ?
in any case, i ran it with balanced/unbalanced cables and never had a problem except noise in cheap cablos.

The only problem i ever had with the a16 blue is a the fuse in the powxer supply, and it cost 0,60 euros to replace.

The main issue with the A16 Ultra is concerning the outputs. If you want to connect an unbalanced piece of gear to the output of the A16 make sure your 1/4 inch jack is a stereo plug (tip/ring/sleeve) with positive on the tip, NO CONNECTION on the ring, and ground on the sleeve.
DO NOT use a 'mono' jack on the A16's outputs. This is because the A16 doesn't have fully floating outputs and if you use a mono jack it ties the negative to ground, which can damage the output drivers by unnecessarily loading them down.
There is a reference to this in the A16 manual (English section), on page 35.

Thanks!
Yes, my old A16 crashed as I ran the Headphone-Amp with two mono cables for some weeks.
So I will not do this mistake again with the A16 Ultra.
