Does anybody have a ASUS A7V8X with a XTC-Card?
I had evervthing working, 8 master verb EZ.
But after a virus-attack, I had to format my HD and reinstall everything again. I did not change any BIOS-Settings, and XP runs in Standard-Mode but wont load the IRQ resource exclusions from the BIOS.
IRQ 10 Matrox Millennium G550
IRQ 10 ST Audio DSP24/MKII WDM Audio System
IRQ 11 VIA IEEE 1394-Hostcontroller
IRQ 11 Win XP Promise FastTrak Controller
IRQ 11 Creamware Pulsar2
But now everytime Cubase loads a XTX-plugin it adds 50% to the actual CPU-load.
Not to mention the glitches and Screen freeze.
any hints to solve my problem??

well, and then are your bios settings ignored? Can´t believe this. Did you check ASUS.com for a Bios update?

Did you try to deactivate any ressource which isnt`t needed (e.g. 2nd or third com port, parallelport, onboard LAN, onboard sound etc. and of course switching the cards slots once again?)

(I´ve to point out that I personally do not recommend any asus product regardless of the tests. I made my experiences myself and they where really not the best).

by the way Promis Controller have been tested by severeal people here as to bee very problematic.

Do you use the latest VIA Chipsetdrivers (www.viaarena.com) If so...make sure you didn´t install the vendor Atapi driver or simply paste it with the original windows IDE driver which is beet in case of data loss etc.

I used to have the same problems when Cubase 5.0 was installed. But the day I installed SX my problems suddenly disapeared. Hell knows why?
On the board everything I don´t really need is deaktivated, which leaves Windows with 5 unused IRQ´s. Should be enough you would think.
All the latest drivers and BIOS are installed.
I even tried to switch Slots back and forth a hundred times.
But yesterday I talked to my lokal dealer, and he suggested to bring the computer in for a check-up. There might be something wrong with the BIOS Chip or the Southbridge, so the expert says.
And I´m beginning to think he must be right!!
