Oh man, I´ve installed the latest ZoneAlarm version to protect my Internet PC a little.
I´ve installed it 6 days ago and I´ve installed a virgin system image few weeks ago.
When I´am looking at the overview window I can read 32598 intrusions with 554 of them high rated and 952 blocked attempts to access my PC, growing nearly every second.
32651, 997 attempts , engage all battle stations..
Whoever wants to battle me, show your face!
The net is a war place.
It´s war in the WWW...

Dont you susoect that the creators of Zone Alarm is just faking those attempts?
If they make you paranoid enough, you will buy the latest update for their program.. Thus they make money..
Just like the virus protection people, it's strange how they always come up with a cure for a virus almost instantaneous after a new virus is launched..

That´s a sharp tought and I also had this in my mind. But how would you block those "real" attempts to access your Computer?
Once I had downloaded a download manager called NetPumper, it access to a server and transmit every file I´ve downloaded,I guess.
Anyway after I had installed this Pumper the problems start, after I exterminate this Prg it was quite on my PC again.
Also I´ve installed the new Windows Media Player, I´ve unchecked all options that WMP transmits datas to microcsoft about every mp3 or movie I load. But I don´t have any trust in this.
The web is a good place to trace the people and record what they are surf, watch, download and use, a good and easy way to control people,or?
Everybody should have a computer,hehe.

I did some tests last year using ZoneAlarm and BlackIce Defender. Both applications caused excess noise on my PC while running Pulsar. On 2003-09-14 12:26, ChrisWerner wrote:
What can happen when I use a firewall on my recording PC? I don´t enter the internet with my music PC,though?
But I´am curious, krizrox.
