The jupiter 6 is my first synth and yes it has the europa upgrade for enhanced midi functionality.
but now i consider to buy me another hardwaresynth (I have creamware pulsar soundcard with all of its incredible plugins so any further hardware should be analog).
i´m thinking of an analog synthsizer with midicapabilities although the nordlead 3 would be also a nice choice (the only digitalhardwaresynth which has persuaded me in comparison to the virus,ms2000,etc.
i´ve looked at the forum and came the conclusion that there is a nice bunch of classic synths which have midi ability.
so thats the considered synths:
Oberheim 8 or Xpander (i have some samples of the oberheim 8 and they are beautiful. guess the expander must be in the same league)
Korg Polysix with kenton midi retrofit (the cheapest solution)
Alesis Andromeda (no classic synth and a bit expensive)
memorymoog lintronic midi enhanced (just a dream. to expensive for my budget).
if someone has a clue or some hints what i should consider to buy please tell it me. i´m interested.
thanks
helldiver
What synth would be sounding nice beside Jupiter 6?
Dunno where you live, I have a Roland JX8P to sell.
Great analog filters, not mutch knobs however, which makes it payable.
(lotsa touch buttons you have).
But there's an edit fader which you can assign to any parameter, and you can sequencer-record it.
In perfect health, with original case.
Why I'm selling it?
I never found that any parameter
you can pm me

thanks hubird but i don´t want another roland except a super jupiter maybe or the sh101.
what i want is a memorymoog (with lintronic update) or a oberheim 8.
xpander is definately a nice synth but i guess the marion synth would be cheaper choice since it´s the same as xpander but with 8 voices.
even tom oberheim said to the marion: it´s better than my xpander.
but xpander is nice though

The 6 has a fast, biting sound that would be fantastic next to a fatter, looser synth like an Oberheim. The Xpander (which is the same thing as a Matrix 12) or some SEMs would be my choice over an OB-8, although the guy I got my Minimoog from thought the OB-8 was the best thing on the planet (which is why the Minimoog was the one he sold
).
Of course, the Prophet 5 has the same qualities & is available for Pulsar, so that shouldn't be overlooked. Creamware has a new emulation on the horizon that will be very exciting if its as accurate as the Minimax.
