This is what Internet allows you to do today... But even like this, people preffer for you to be available physically, no just through the internet...

Here in Chile, you can easily get (leasten to this) 5 o 6 hectaries of land!!! for the price of a SCOPE board...

Well... reading the prhase I must say I don't know what it means exactly... It's quite crazy... Anyway, what I wanted to say is that you may die sooner than expected, so you better not doing so many plans for the future, living more the present as is... and if you have some meney don't think as much of about 10 or 20 years later... cos you don't know if you are going to be alive... You better do what you have to do today...

Make sure you get a New Helmet Immediately!!

I've had a couple of prangs myself...I think the slo-mo thing is something to do with your blood stream being instantly replaced with neat adrenaline

How'd you lose it? New tyres? Slippery road? I nearly lost it last time I had a new rear tyre put on. Managed to FORGET what I'd gone to the garage for, opened the throttle right up as soon as a left and left a nasty stain in my pants

well, that's exactly what came to my mind. I've done the same dozens of times before - but there is a fundamental difference to your experience, Royston:
I was the motor of the bike

but the rest is similiar, though not too much damage.

The funny thing is I decided to take the more 'safe' part of the road and be careful.
The situation is basically a main traffic road with 3 lines in each direction, which I have to cross to get the next turn left.
The cars are not too fast because there's a crossing right before, but with a bicycle you'll have to push pretty much to get through (without annoying the other drivers - that's part of the challenge).

I wanted to avoid it this situation and took the other option beneath the main traffic on a bicycle line, accelerated, spotted behind as usual, saw the proper hole in the traffic and ready to sprint off.
Frontwheel slipped, oversteered, no chance to avoid crash, '... what would be without the helmet ?' - IMPACT '... my skull would be broken without', '... I'm an idiot - how could this happen ??? - how embarassing...

I must have hit a small 'direction arrow' of white colour right in the moment I turned left. The painting isn't more but 10x3 inches

you can bet, it was a lesson for me.
My speed must have been 20-25 miles an hour, which may not seem much - but it equals the impact of diving into an empty swimmingpool

or a jump from first floor - anyone tried that ?

Ah... First thing you learn riding a bike (esp. with non-human motor) - FEAR PAINTWORK and FEAR MANHOLE COVERS (also fear wet leaves in the Autumn).

They are similar to Liquid Helium 3 (an isotope). LH3 has no measureable viscosity whatsoever and road paintwork/manhole covers have no mesureable surface friction

Also, lose the front end and you've had it! (lose the back and you have a chance at least).

Glad to hear you've the good sense to wear a helmet!
