I really don't want to play with those synth-toy-keyboards anymore. But, I neither want to carry a 30kg 88-key keyboard with me everytime.
Does anyone know af any "piano-keyboard" smaller than 8 or 7 octaves?
EDIT: I found Studiologic's SL-161 any other?

would the Nord Electro be good for you? Depends what kind of piano sound you want, but it's got really nice "lounge" piano that sounds like a jazz recording. Also, it's got a good "modern" sounding bright piano. Check on their site. They have mp3 demos which really demonstrates the samples very well.
And remember, you also get a modeled organ with the piano samples. It's actually the organ that nord electro specializes in.

I forgot to emphasize I'm looking for just keyboard, controller. Not a synthesizer. (nor piano or organ
)Something well under (I hope) $1000.
And if I remember right, keyboard in Electro was not fully-weighted.
I love the touch in the keyboard of my Alesis QS8 (which is made by Fatar AFAIK). Something similar but in smaller size (and lighter

The Roland A-37 comes recommended from here, 6 + some octaves synth-weighted keys, velocity, channel aftertouch, 2 MIDI out connections, split and the lot.
Only drawback AFAIC is that you have to buy the powersupply seperately.
Hope you find what´s right for you

Spoimala, I just stumbled over a pdf document of the Fatar Studio 610 Plus when cleaning up my HD.
It says 61 weighted keys and the picture (rather low res unfortunately) looks very similiar to the mechnic of my ELKA EK55, made in Italy, too.
The action is of course lighter than your Alesis with the true hammers, but way better than the usual plastic only stuff. Weight is about 10 kg. It's probably the 'Plus' that makes the difference in the mechanic - I guess the similiar looking Studiologics you mentioned is unweighted. The PDF is only 96 kb - I could mail it to you if you're interested and don't find it elsewhere.
cheers, Tom
