I use Pulsar 2 and A16 Ultra, and am currently using Samplitude 7 (although I have used Logic 5 extensively in the recent past and ignored the same problem). I use the A16 lightpipe into the Pulsar 2, and set up the ASIO ins/outs accordingly in SFP to use all available.

Is it possible to adjust a setting in either SFP or the host app so that the inputs appear in the host as 1-18, as opposed to 1L through 9R (mono channels instead of stereo pairs)? I find that I'm used to working around this, but it bugs the shit out of guys that come to my place that aren't used to SFP. thanks. . .

Funny - I was wondering the same thing recently. I just moved from tripleDAT to Sonar and now I'm discovering the wide world of ASIO/VST/DirectX/etc.

Is there a place I can go that discusses ASIO in more detail? Wasn't that a Steinberg invention or something?

Look in your manual for "IOs & Drivers.pdf"

also

http://news.harmony-central.com/Newp/WN ... O-2.0.html

has a bit of info on what ASIO2 adds and who may actually benefit from it (better external sync).
