Hi people,

I have a problem with my DAW that's been around for long, but today it got really annoying.

The problem is this:

I'm using the "24bit Wave Source" as source to route audio from SoundForge, Winamp etc... to either ADAT out or analog out - then to my digital mixer & monitors.

Playback seems normal *until* you stop it. When I stop it, I get a weird echo effect in the right channel (as if it took some buffer just previously played in both channels, and bounced it once more in the right speaker). The effect lasts only a few tenths of a second, but it's long enough to clearly disturb your work. The same problem occurs using any available "out"-port for audio.

I also run Cubase SX on this machine, using ASIO-drivers and these show no problems at all - and so I think it's caused by the 24 Wave Source driver.

The reason why this problem bugs the heck out of me now is that I'm supposed to "cut" an hour or two of miscellaneous wav-files into tiny samples (percussions and small things) and I need to do this in Soundforge. The problem is it's impossible to check for a clear sound decay when I get this "effect".

I would really appreciate anyones help on this one...

My system:
Intel P4 2.8 GHz
Asus P4PE board
two Pulsar II boards hooked up with STDM-cable
Matrox Parhelia
Win XP home edition, SP1
SFP 3.1c

Yes, the problem is also in Soundforge, and it doens't matter if I use "MS Sound Mapper" thing or "CreamWare Play/Rec" option for Wave output in SF.

Problem also exist when using MS Media Player.

it seems the Wave drivers don't work properly.

I also have exactly this problem with Wave Drivers and playback in any "Wave-driver-related" program:
- Wavelab 4.x
- Winamp
- Windows Media Player
- Irfan View 3.x

ASIO works fine.
