Hey Nestor,

I can't believe it's already the 10th-- life gets so busy and I haven't even started yet, despite my intentions to make a masterpiece

Here it is Saturday morning, and I got out of bed at 7am, motivated to try to come up with something different and unusual (for me anyway). I'm determined to try working in a different way from normal. I may totally fail, and have nothing to show for it--- we'll see.

In any case, I doubt I'll get it anywhere near 160 bars, but I figure something is better than nothing.

I haven´t started with the remix too. So your chances are not too bad John.

Anyway, two or three nights must be enough.
I´m good under pressure, hopefully.

I can imagine you there...

Well, I did it, and fail at the same time... as you will hear in the Musuc forum, an unfortunate error spoiled everything quite badly. I know you preffer leastening to everything after you have done your part...

At first, it is not easy... you are quite lost cos everything is quite different, but once you have found a few mayour motives to follow, things will come up by themselves.

I've used XTC, and this made me quite happy, it was my first time. BTW: xtc mode sounds extraordinarly well...

Hey Chris

Man, you should teach us how to do such a fantastic drums.... It is different to leasten to them alone.

Another thing... which samples do you use for cymbals? They are gorgeous!

BTW: it takes a little of time to get into it... cos the mixture of samples is slow... I spend about 14 hours in all.

Hi Nestor,
sorry but I won´t listen to your competition track before the 14th because this will influence me too much.
The drums where very easy, I used some ready drum loops from a sample CD and played the cymbals manualy with the NS drum kit V6. If you don´t have the NS-Drum Kit I can give you the link, it´s free for download.
All drum elements use the QuadDex modular patch for filtering and flanging.
I´m glad that you like them.
As I said I haven´t listen to your uploaded track yet but there is a ´magic moment`when you use my drums with some of your great guitar samples, this goes really well together.
I think I´ll start meditative and slowly then go into a rock dance style part and finally come back to a quiter part.

So coffee is ready, I´ll start with the final remix now.

After four hours, a can of coffee and two beers I really get into it and wow that makes fun. I have reached bar 81 now.
No meditation, though.

I hope Ken could solve his computer problems to remix too.

Hey Nestor, I´ve got a question.
My remix is finsihed but I´ve got 166bars.
The last sound plays before bar 160 but I need the last 6 bars to let the feedback fade away. Can I let it as it is?

This was a nice work and I´ve learnt to use my SFP much better to realise my ideas.
For example, I had to build a voice box, as I call it, with the modular to process your voices or a track compressor to gain and compress the single tracks.

Now, two days left to hone the remix.

use the 6 extra tracks. We are very few, and the contest turned out to be a very relaxed learning and fun thing.

I would nave not leastened to anybody's song either, till finishing mine.

I have no idea about the drum kit you are talking about, if you could post a link for us to get there and download it, it would be great. And if there is some more info too, please. If this drums sounds like your posted drums, I want to have this kit, I will use it for suer, particularly the cymbals.... Cheers and good luck with your song.

Guys, I'll be buzy for a few days, perhaps even a couple of weeks, so I'm not able to follow anything like a votation. Sorry about this. Perhaps, and because we have been such a short amount of people it makes not much sense to do so. But of course, if you like it, carry on... Just hope that those still to post, do it, don't worry if you are overdue in time, do it anyway...

man, I'm back from Taiwan but my machine is broken. I'll be getting a replacement shortly, so if that's in time, I may be able to scrap up something. The thought of having to reinstall everything makes me sick. yow!

Hey Ken,
Take your time. The "deadline" was a good motivator, but is not particularly important in any other way. We'd all be curious to hear what you come up with, if you have time.

Good luck with the machine. Re-installing everything is a pain, but actually, once you finish it's always quite a good feeling to know that your machine has been cleansed

Hi Ken! I had a similar problem to yours, and I'm afraid I'm going to be doing the same than you... I suddanly wake up with a black screen machine, no hardware, but OS, very, very strange and unusual. But here we are... This perhaps makes you feel better
