It's a bass management module according to the international specifications.

The demo is time limited at 10 minutes

Waiting for your observations ...

Just for the fun,I've made a similar application 3 years ago. Also with stereo downmix and bass management.
Anyway your system looks nice.

Hello Celmo,

cordialement,
a+++

A 5.1 tool

Is the output stereo (L-R), and has it to be decoded by a external decoder ? (this is what i'm looking for)

Or is the output made of five buses (one for each speaker)to be wired via seperate lines ?

Thanks

can not really understand your question about stereo L R an its decoding but in some words, here is what this module is used for :

In a 5+1 monitoring setup, in order to respect the international rules for 5+1 sound, Dolby Digital, DTS, MPEG2, Windows media Wma multicanal ... we have to route and filters the audio signal as follow :

- the 5 loud speakers called sattelites that are the 5 main speaker (3 in front L C R & 2 rear LS RS) must be high pass filtered (at about 80 to 120 Hz).

- in the same time, a low pass filered summ of these 5 channels must be routd to the LFE and summed with the LFE Channel from the source.

-the LFE Channel itself must be low pass filtered in order to reduce frequencies sent in the subwoofer ...

This module do this job according to the international specs.

he does a bit more ... you can adjust each volume, mute each channels, mate mute groups, volume groups, you can insert plug'ins on all channels ...

The Bass management part of the module is complete, with slope for filetrs ...

the last section is some delays and phase in order to virtually move the speaker in your room in order to respect the circle on wich they should be placed.

I hope it's understandable ! soory !my english is not so good !

i'll try to make a white paper in english but it will be a bit hard !!!
Need Help !

So it is a 5.1 encoder, yes very nice.
Never knew that a such device exists since 3 years.

Celmo, is your 5.1 device still available in demo version (couldn't download it) ? I would like to try it for comparaison, I got all the necessary gear for 5.1. THANK YOU

Hi!
Faybs, it doesn't look like an encoder to me. Indeed an encoder would be a nice device, but this device doesn't encode the audio. If it was a real encoder doing AC3 or DTS it would be extremely cheap, but for what it does - in my opinion - it's simply overpriced.

correct me, if I'm wrong

What about z.matrix by zplane.development?
Are they complementary tools?
