Sad... I hope their knowhow doesn't get lost like that. IMO Waldorf was one of the last real hardware manufacturers worth buying a synth from...

I love my Microwave XT. It's got a touch of magic that many other soft/hard synths lack.

I'm certainly hoping that the "companies looking to buy the intellectual property of
the company" (as mentioned in the original post) reach an agreement. It'd be such a shame for Waldorf's products and technology to be permanently locked away...

Especially since I never did get around to getting the expansion board for my XT!

Quoi?

There's a news article on terratec's website which explains the situation quite well:

http://pressen.terratec.net/modules.php ... le&sid=210

Sounds pretty encouraging to me (if it's to be believed).

The date on that news item is from around the NAMM tradeshow.. however there is a more recent announcement of their demise. I don't think the Terratec thing worked out :z

Ah. That's a shame.

I used to own a big Waldorf MIDI router/switch thing - great box, had a VERY large red button with "PANIC" written on it - very useful!!
