Want to record my outboard keyboard MIDI, to Cubase, how to?

When I had Cubase 5.1r installed, I used to record my outboard keyboard, a Kong X5 ai2 Synthesis System, which I still love and use much. How did I do? I would first record everything into Cubase via MIDI, and then would connect the Outs of the X5, to my Pulsar Audio Ins, and so I could record the audio output into Cubase, that’s what I want to do again.
Long time has passed, I now have Cubase SX and I don’t remember how I did it, SX is different and don’t find the way out. How do you do to record your own outboard keyboards played through MIDI?
Any advices or methods appreciated, thanks.

Same approach would work. Lay down your parts via midi, then connect the X5 outs to the Pulsar Audio In. Setup a Pulsar Analog Source and connect it to any Scope mixer, connect the ASIO Dest modules to the output of the mixer. Test your levels and adjust. Note that @ 24 bit you don't have to come in too hot, as you've got more headroom.
Setup your record boundaries, select the destination audio track in SX and start recording. You may wish to start the recording a bit earlier in SX, not right at the moment the X5 comes in, just in case.

ok, heres what i do:
midi a source -> seq midi dest
seq midi source -> synth midi
synth outputs -> scope inputs
scope inputs -> ASIO Dest
2 tracks in cubase; MIDI and Audio
midi track to CW MIDI (be sure it transmit the right channel, check for midi signal)
Enable audio monitoring on Audio track.
that should be it if im not wrong. im not saying this is optimal, but it suits my needs. U can ofcourse route the audio from synth via the SFP mixer first.
good luck

I am trying to do a similar thing I think.
I have attached my fps image in:

Please let me know if that is the correct way of getting keyboard via Luna II card, to cubase.
I experiance a fraction of a second delay between pressing a key on keyboard and hearing a note via cubase... Not sure what i am doing wrong.

Nestor, if your connections is ok, midi should be trouble free from SX. Just make sure you are transmitting at right driver, right midi channel etc. do u see SX transmitting data? if so, can u reroute the SX midi data to a similar setup sfp synth, and does it work? they should be similary working, no difference.
If the sfp synths works, there is definatly an outboard prob.
oh, and u should check that u have activated correct asio inputs, and that the audiotrack u try to record to has monitoring enabled.

I don't think they will be worth such time investment. Perhaps they will by the end, if I get MUCH help from the knowlegeable ones in here. But I'm going to tray my best nevertheless.
Kensuguro kidly offered my some FTP space, but I can't reach it, there are problems with his server. I'm waiting to get some space, or perhaps somobody else could offer a few megabites for pictures I need to upload for the tutorial, and then I will get started.

1. place a midi monitor just behind the 'seq midi source' module. you got data? ok then:
2. place a midi monitor parallel to the input of your 'pulsar midi destination', as your midi will be leaving SFP here. still got data? then it is something in your keyboard. you got everything set up ok there? maybe something like 'local off'. i remember having something like that in a keyboard/sampler. though i think it was for doing exactly the opposite. it's been too long...
just try to go further and further doxn the midi stream using midi monitors.
