Nothing fancy, but you can get an idea of the sound comparison.

1st set in each of the sequences is the Minimax....second repetition is the Arturia.

Yeah, MiniMax sounds way better. Not only is the tone better, but it doesn't have a steppy filter.

I am surprised that the Arturia has such a steppy filter?!? You would have thought that this would have been top priority for this bit of software. Not that I care as I have the MiniMax anyway, but poor show on the developers of the Minimoog!

What I don't get is when people like Bob Moog and Jean-Michel Jarre endorse these things. They ought to know better.

Sorry, I didn't save the project...it was just a little test.

But all I did was:

1. Have all 3 OSC's on and set to saw, same octave
2. no detune on oscs
3. cutoff 100%, Res 0%
4. soft clip off on Arturia
5. no effects

for the 1st section it was played as is.

The second section I turned the cutoff to 15%, and made a MIDI file of the res sweep. I copied the res sweep data to both instruments and recorded the output.

I don't remember the exact settings on the third section....sorry.

Hope this helps.

I installed minimax last night, all I can say is WOW, yes thats right all in caps too lol.

It has such a fat and brilliant sound there is no way possible a VSTi curremntly can match this quality, and definetely not in the lower registers.

Cheers ans thanks for the tes!
