I hope so... I have a Pulsar I Plus, I hope strongly, the upgrade would also be for Pular I users. If anybody here knows about it, please, let me know, cheers.

According to Fortune in the following thread:
http://www.planetz.com/forums/viewtopic ... 0&start=80

Hi,

today I've talked to Frank & Petar about the subject at Frankfurt Musikmesse. To a certain extend things could be cleared, but due to activities at the booth not in every possible case.

Luna / Luna II will benefit update to 4.0 as SCOPE home

Pulsar (Pulsar I / II) / Pulsar XTC will benefit update to 4.0 as SCOPE project

Power Pulsar like SCOPE SFP will benefit update to 4.0 as SCOPE professional
According to combination of cards You should ask individually if in doubt.

So in most cases you should be able to determine what to expect.

Cheers
Fortune

You hit the nail on the head, Samplaire - from that post all misunderstanding aroused :D

Some people think all their cards will get the keys that come with the software bundles that are put next to them in that post. Not what I thought. IMHO that goes only for new cards.

I'm quite sure we'll all get the new OS, SFP 4, and the SFP 4 updates of the devices we already have. And yes, we'll have to get new SFP keys. That's also how CW's always worked. Nestor, you've had a couple of OS updates, why would you think it will be different this time? :)

Check out this topic for more rumours :D

at0mic - you did what I should do  I don't like half information myself and should explain all the details I know on software bundles to Nestor.

Half information is worse than no information - as they say

Sadly I fear at0mic is correct although as he stated it is his HO.

With something as important as mixing I don't think CW should create a subclass of customers though.

I remember when Cubase offered 2 versions of Cubase VST, 16 bit and 32 bit. I bought the 16 bit version just because I felt it was unfair to have to pay extra just to get 32 bit. Now the upgrade from Cubase VST to Cubase SX was the same price for any version of Cubase VST, 16 or 32 bit, so I saved several hundred dollars by waiting. I'm doing the same thing for the CW mixer. I refuse to pay extra for something I feel should be included.

Then you were very lucky with your SX upgrade. I paid more than double than my partner did, he had VST32, I had standard VST5.

Honestly... well, you'll kill me gusy for saying this... but I personaly think that my time for getting "free" updates from Cremware is over... this is what I feel. I have got so many free updates that I think I shoud no longer get another one for free... This free upgrading phylosophy from Creamware has been here for many, many years... I'm quite amazed it is STILL there, aren't you?

I absolutely welcome this free upgrades, of course, particularly living in Chile and not having much work otherwise I would simply not upgrade by force. But nevertheless, if they ask us to pay for an upgrade this time, it would be perfectly in order. That is why I'm asking how it will work. Cheers

But... they are not silly people, this will make this platform extremely appealing to new people. This SHOULD be stated in CWA site, it is an important marketing fact.

I think the free upgrades now are mainly just bug fixes. It would be nice if they start charging and that way enable them to give a great value with the best synths and mixers included... or some of them.

I'm getting the SFP 4 of course but I'm not that excited about it.

Why is purchasing a plugin pack and getting the upgrade for free inferior to getting the plugin pack for 'free' with a paid upgrade?

Because some people are just plain negative.

In my opinion charging for the platform would bring in more money total than the plug-ins currently do and thus it would enable a better value (lower price) for us over buying the plug-ins at their current over priced cost.

what is overpriced ?
in Euro:
Absynth 233, Reaktor 433, FM7 239, Halion 369, Virsyn Tera 249, Arturia Moog 269, Kontakt 333.
btw everything in Euro is somewhat overpriced, because the sales prices are the same 'psychological' figures as when we had local currencies in Europe
So (in Germany) everything IS effectively twice as expensive (not restricted to music gear), but that's the way it goes...

cheers, Tom
