Very OT question, but I seek advice from the mac gurus. I'm setting up my wife's newly acquired ibook g4, but I'm having trouble finding an e-mail client that handles web based e-mail. Perhaps I'm looking in the worng places. Eudora doesn't seem to support checking and sending through web based accounts. I remember seeing a couple of windows based clients that do this.

Bottom line is, my wife needs to be able to check a hotmail account, and also a netscape account.

Man, the wife's running around with a 1ghz g4 with 768mg RAM. Maybe I should install max/MSP on it. hehe.

Hi Kensuguro,

Perhaps this one helps: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/6886

But in fact I don't know if I get you right. Why can't you (your wife) access the e-mail account via a browser?

BTW I read your post wrong, now I see: I simply use MS Outlook for mac, it gets my Hotmail post into it perfectly.
Guess that's what you're asking

If so - Outlook express does it good, too

The MS Outlook Express is more reliable on the Mac than on the PC - more options, more flexibility

You can download an open source plugin for Mail.app

http://sourceforge.net/projects/httpmail-plugin

This will allow mail.app to access Hotmails httpmail servers

EDIT: This tip assumes your wife is on OS X

ahh, so now I've found out. Both hotmal (msn) and netscape use proprietory formats, so you need specific software to talk to their mail servers. On the other hand, Yahoo mail works just like a regular POP mail server.
