HSS seems cool... but man what I really want is that guy's AirScooter! That sounds *really* fun.

j9k, I remember the Access installation from SIGGRAPH used this technology. (the thing at the entrace of e-tech)

Anyhow, this thing WORKS. You hear a sound that has a sort of high passed quality to it, and the cool thing about the way access project used it, the sound follows you around. It's kind of like being haunted by a ghost. And it's true, the guy walking beside me didn't hear a thing! spooky!

i saw something simalar once but it was a 1 meter parabolic dish with a speaker mounted at the focal point. at the time i thought it was pretty effective. i'll bet this thing uses piezo transducers pulse width modulated up close to the mhz range like they do for those ultrasonic humidifiers.
