Hi, when I recently upgraded to SFP 4.0 I also bought the Modular 3 synth. Ive installed it and the presets are working fine, although I am unable to build my own patches. Ive downloaded the manual, and the screenshots from that document shows lots of menus that suppose to exist within the "Modular window" but that I havent got. I should be able to build my own patches right? My question is simply: how do I get these menus that contains the modules to appear?

Did you remember to get the MOD2 download too - and install it?

If so, and it still doesnt work: edit SFPAppBincset.ini. Under [Path], make sure there's a line that says "Modules=drive:pathtomodules

Folders in that modules folder are the dropdown menu's in a modular shell.

Even if (for whatever reason) you don't see the menus in the modular window, you can still make patches by using the file browser.

Open the file browser using the F10 key, and navigate to the directory where the modular patches are. You can now bring in an empty modular patch. Now browse to the directory where your Modular modules are (I think this should be devicesmodular 2modules, but I may be wrong, and it sounds like your paths aren't set up correctly) and you can drag and drop them into your patch.

As far as your installation goes, it sounds like the installer has, for some reason, not copied the modular modules into the correct directory. You should be able to find the modules somewhere in your SFP directory and copy them to the right place. Can someone post the correct directory path for the modules (I'm at work so can't do this myself).

Good luck,
Ben

I´m not on 4.0 yet so I can speak for 3.1c only, maybe 4.0 hasn´t changed the path structure, I guess so.

The mod3 modules must be here, for example:

F:SFPDevicesModular IIIModular III Modules

And the mod II ones here:

F:SFPModular2Modules

Of course the drive path must fit to your sfp folder.
Hope it works for you. Gratz to your modular anyway.

cheers

Hey ChrisWerner,

What's the use of having 2 root folders for modules? If I understand well, it's impossible to get both of them folders with different root in the dropdown menu, so there's always some folders excluded...

I have one main /Modules/ folder, which contains all group folders (env, osc,lfo,...) plus a Flexor and j9k folder. This way, in any patch you can choose any module - shells and modules are all crosscompatible anyway.

Hm, I still wonder why you made 2 different root folders... Please enlighten

You are right.
Well, I don´t know why I have different modules folders for modII and mod III.
That´s the way how it installed itself but this is long time ago.
When I had mod III, I never care about mod II anymore.
Well, of course it´s better to use one modules folder only and add subfolders like you described.

Strange, when I open an empty modII modules I have access to the modIII modules.

The mod 3 modules are still not found .I searched all known ways.I have a modules 3 folder but it contains presets.I just reinstalled 4.0.But it didn´t help.
It´s very strange but the patches includes the hidden modules.
Could someone upload the modules specific for mod 3.Creamware should do it.

Kim

They did it, you just overlooked it.

If you have the devices, you have the modules. They're in the same pack:

After putting all my mod 2 & III modules in one folder I couldn't get the dropdown menus to appear until I renamed the folder EXACTLY as it comes in the Mod 2 download ie. 'Modular2 Modules', no matter what I tried in Cset.ini.
I noticed a similar thing with all the SFP Manual files....they wouldn't appear in the live bar until I put them in a folder called english.........
there must be something somewhere else controlling appearance of menus. :???:
