We got a 2nd place :)
This week-end, there has been a carnival in Ålborg, Denmark. I play in a dance/drum group, and we got a second place. The group is named Vimoroz, wich "means" something like "wehavefun". I play double bells.
Next Week-end we play at the carnival in Copenhagen, Denmark. Around the end of June we play at the Carnival i Hamburg, Germany (I will not be there). At the end of August, we play at the Nottin Hill carnival in London, England. Apart from that, we have a series of local gigs durring the summer.
The group, that won the battle today came from Amsterdam, Holland. They where realy good, and some of the members where professional. We are just serious amateurs, who put a good deal of energy and effort into playing/dancing. So I see it the way, that we won. Sure we do too think, that the people from Amsterdam had the best show, but they where kind of out of range. So in that respect, we won. The biggest victory was, that we did our best, and that turned out to be good.
Greetings from a proud bell player - Immanuel

First of all, congrats to your band for the victory! Who cares if they're pro, just beat 'em next year! hehe. It'll be so cool if a really good amateur band beat a pro band.
I was wondering about the same thing.. what are double bells?

congrats Immanuel
whatever it was, double jingle, cow or christmas - even small instruments can be important...
what makes an R'n'B hit ? What is that all heavy air play pieces have in common ?
No, it's not the bassline, no special kick - it's the triangle faintly blipping in the background
check it out...
cheers, tom

Double-bells? Is that when you have a nice pelvic thrust that make your family jewels tine?On 2004-05-23 08:47, kensuguro wrote:

Hey k00l Immanuel, congratulations - and a lot of fun, but I don't doubt that
- to you and the rest of the group.
