You're right King
Though there is a lot electronic music on Lowlands I never go to the festival, I'm just allergic to guitars...

I Holland, Goa trance doesn't exist, while in mid Europe and elsewhere it's rather popular.

I'm not really into it, but there's the Antaris, Full Moon, Fusion and Wonderland Festival in Germany, Samothraki festival in Greece (just not this year), the Boom festival in Portugal, and in Hungary, Poland (Solipse) and Tschech psy-trance was also present in the past.

I don't have a reason for this, maybe we are too over-organized for seemingly chaotic but organic parties like these.

What I've seen so far, psy-trance parties are very attractive yet.
The music is very dancable (ongoing), the scene is rather global thinking (for what's worth) and anti commercial.
Also the people are very friendly, and the attention to cheap but effective ways to create the right atmosphere is great (blacklight arts instead of lasershows etc).

Techno, hardcore and club music is what we have, not Goa trance.
Is it drug related?
It's getting hard to find any paper*trips here (LS*D), while these are rather popular in the trance scene.
(Mushr*ooms are an alternative, and are available here, but much more expensive).
