Hi folks,
i have a big problem with an "new" cpu.
I have a ASUS P4B266 with 2 Ghz, 1GB, Matrox G550, 2Xscope+1 Pulsar1 in PCI slots 2-4. I tryed acpi an standard and everything in the forum. I worked with this config for two yars now. So I decided to buy a 2.6 Ghz cpu to update my pc while waiting for the pci-e thing. When i put the 2.6 ghz cpu in, then the pc freezes after a while when doing NO audio and very quick when starting cubase sx. With my 2 Ghz CPU everithing works fine.
When i pull out the creamware cards the 2.6 Ghz works with no problem. I have nothing overclocked and i have no cracked versions on the system. no office or games. all microsoft updates. As said before with the 2.0 ghz cpu everything works very good.
And i have a second PC with the same mobo
and there the 2.6 CPU works very fine.
So i think the problem is not the cpu i think it conflicts with my creamware cards.
what can i do? Could it be that the cpu is deffect. I tryed some cpu test utils. No probs.
It crashes too while installing new with CW -cards insertet.
Please help because i want to use this 2.6 GHZ CPU for a yar or so befor updateing to
a complete new system.
