I talked to a friend who runs a phpBB forum and he tells me the code is included to make what I'm talking about happen. I know that this is a heavily modified version of phpBB but what the heck.On 2004-08-01 17:55, paulrmartin wrote:
John, the next step is for the page to open up scrolled down to the new reply. There are many PHP boards that do this and I think you are more than able do make it happen here too.![]()

z pHp version is not the latest, but John is a very busy man. The pHp does a decent job IMO. We conversate, solve our problems, get new insight and have good fun. Anyone remember planetz was the role model of a japanese research on the 'ideal' (correct me if I'm wrong) forum.
I'm sure there's a bunch of changes on John's list for this forum, if he ever finds the time... I'm also quite certain that he never expected the planetz Pulsar pages to grow that big.

Certainly not in version 1.4 of phpBB which is what our forums are based on. Upgrading to phpBB 2.0 would be a major investment of time (since planetz is so heavily modified). On 2004-08-03 20:02, paulrmartin wrote:I talked to a friend who runs a phpBB forum and he tells me the code is included to make what I'm talking about happen. I spent a while trying to figure out how to make it scroll, back on the day when I made the changes for showing the original page... Couldn't figure it out, so I punted. I do have some other ideas to try, but I haven't had time recently... Hopefully soon!
Cheers,

Well, that took me longer than I expected! Lots of little details to get right. Hopefully it's all working now.

Does that all sound reasonable?
