Don't get me wrong, I've been through three pairs of AKG 240's, I think they sound great too! They are super comfortable and really great for tracking sessions.

I'm just saying that I think the Audio Technica's are more accurate in their in their reproduction.

...and what do you use for speakers j9k?

I was hoping that I wouldn't only get replies from people with the megabuck set-ups.

I am currently looking for a second set of inexpensive monitors for home and I need some ideas.

Haven't you and GaryB both mentioned Yorkvilles in the past?

event ps8 (active). like j9k, i can't use 'm to it's full potential due to keeping a good relation with the neighbours.
so... sony mdr-7506 cans when i need volume at night. great...
however, i don't regard myself a pro mixer or whatever, so i can't comment on the accurateness of my stuff.
when waiting for the ps8's i got a pair of small klein&hummels from the shop for a few weeks... maaaaan, these are the sh*t. out of my league though (over 3000 EUR).

I also got Event PS8, love'm.
Very pleasing to ear over long period of time, not harsh at all.

Yeah, we use blue sky monitors at the studio I work at, they are fantastic, I highly recommend them.
