Just wanted to say these things rock. Really great for listening, but I just thought now, that these would be great for recording as well, since there is so little bleeding. Never heard before bass response, and generally very accurate in my opinion. It's just so much better than what you'd expect from a pair of earphones.
Anyone else use this series?

I find these a livesaver (and voicesaver) at gigs - I'll never go back to floor wedges again! These earphones block out external noise quite well, so I suppose for ultra-quiet recordings, they would be especialy suitable. I don't find them really great for mixing through, but they have a nice clear bass sound for monitoring, especially if what I'm doing is recording a bass guitar (through the BAM of course!) they don't 'blat' out like my midrange-quality audio technica headphones.

You're not kidding - most places seem to hvae them for £125. There's thirty pairs going (by some commercial seller I would guess) on eBay currently - £117 a pair. There's also a few pairs at abuout £86 (shipped from the states by the look of it). They claim "VAT Free" but I'd have thought that there's a chance of having to pay import duty.On 2004-10-19 20:50, dArKr3zIn wrote:
I've been thinking about a pair for a while.. they're damn expensive here in the UK though - maybe on my next trip to the US..

I guess since I wouldn't mix on either the e3c or the Sony ones, and since its purpose would either be a checkup monitor or just plain pleasure listening.. the Sony one could be a good deal.
e3c definitely scores pretty high on the freq responce accuracy scale tho. Which surprised me. But I'm not too sure about stereo separation as I've only used it in noisy conditions so far. So, in other words, noisy condition does affect stereo separation up to a degree.

Company is called 'xpcreation' - very friendly fast no-fuss service. With the shipping et al the total price was about 95 UKP. Still somewhat pricey, but about £30 cheaper than buying in the UK. They sound far superior to my Sennheiser closed-back cans too (which cost the same money...)
Bass response is AOK to my ears - quite a few articles indicate that the bass response improves after a day's use or so.
