Hello all!
i have pulsar 1 + srb with SONAR 2
i'm always working with wave 24bit sources
now i loaded in pulsar the ASIO driver (in sonar i switched to ASIO), but i'm still cant hear nothing , and sometimes i have an error with the PCI problem, my board is GA-7VAXP, i have only AGP video card (radeon 9200), and NETWORK (onboard), but WAVE 24bit working fine! and i found, if i'm disconnectins CD-ROM's, pulsar is working better.
i have Win98SE

thank you

Sonar 4 and Pulsar 2 & XTC w/ASIO working fine here. I know that doesn't solve your problem but at least you should know it's a working combination. I have no other suggestions except a reinstall.

Are you going to the Sonar clinic at Guitar Center tonight (Arlington Heights)? Maybe you can get some help there. I will be there.

krizrox,

I'm about to do an install of the same config you have, but the only instructions in the Creamware manual for Sonar points to the MME drivers. Is the basic process you used the same as what was documented for using ASIO with Cubase? Any tips or things to avoid? And jsut to be clear, are you using ASIO or ASIO2?

i have sonar 3 and it uses asio fine. yes, it's pretty similar to cubase(asio port naming is a little different, but...). i use asio2 drivers, but asio1 will work fine. asio2 allows a word clock connection.

So did you just activate the ASIO drivers in Sonar, or did you need to move the Creamware ASIO driver into the Sonar program folder?

makes sure Scope environment have Asio souces and destinations.
then in Sonar select Asio Drivers. I beleive that should do it. you may have to restart Sonar.

krizrox: how do you *reliably* get XTC mode working in SONAR? I have it working, then it stops (XTC not installed correctly messages), then it does, then it doesn't... Sometimes when it's "working", a single XTC effect is fine, but add a second and the audio is garbled.

Liberty,

Did you get this figured out? If not, I was wondering if Sonar producing audio? I.e. do your signal meters in Sonar light when they should? If not, then Sonar is not recognizing the audio drivers or there is a driver conflict. Make sure that you are sharing your drivers in the Advanced options, and then restart Sonar. At least that worked for me last night.

I've got a secondary question for the group. What is the advantage of using ASIO vs Wave drivers? To my knowledge the best thing about ASIO is the low/no latency factor. But since the Scope card is in control of the latency anyway, what does ASIO buy you? 24 bit is 24 bit, right? I ask because, I've gotten ASIO to work with Sonar 3, but I don't like it. It get dropouts, odd distortion before the dropouts, and the sound just isn't as good. The WDM drivers work like a charm - am i losing anything going with WDM?

no, you're not losing anything. asio usually is the better functioning driver. you must choose it in the audio properties window(choose asio scope.)

if wav drivers work for you, then great.

hi all.. thank you for help, but my problem is not in ASIO...

i think that i have a bad optical cables from Pulsar to A16... coz' analog outs from Pulsar, working good..
then i switching the A16 to Master and Pulsar Slave, i cant get any of outs from A16, and inputs are working (i can see the input signal in the mixer)
and if i switch to slave (A16) and Master Pulsar.. outputs are working, but sometimes i hear clicks.. (but its another subject of topic)
